ability to upgrade to 8gb of ram.

$100 cheaper (not in the ftp store though)

other than that, sure the same computer.
Very true.... sorry for the misinformation. Just seems like a waste having all that on a 13 inch laptop since you can't really use it for poker. 17 inch MacBook Pro FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

Thoughts?

A lot of people would disagree that LCDs are better than plasma. LCDs, usually set to "torch mode", may look better in the store, but unless you're in a brightly-lit environment then plasma has a lot of fans as more accurate. Neither the 50" plasma nor the Sony LCD in the store are state-of-the-art, but both are pretty good and you'd probably be very happy with either. I'd give a pretty sizable edge to the Panasonic plasma myself.

4-5 months from now? Prices may be lower, maybe not, but at that point I'd probably hold off until January to see what is being introduced at CES.

100% agree with this. can't really play poker on the 13" macbook pro, but it is honestly a fantastic computer. really portable too which i like.

sure the 17" MBP is a sweet computer, and you can def play poker on it.

but....it isnt really that portable. pretty large. so why not just use a desktop with external monitor.

Got 2 of the new 24" Samsung's and I'm quite impressed w/ them. Good color/brightness/contrast controls and just a really good picture. Very pleased w/ them. Holler if you have any specific questions about them.

Oh and HDMI inputs on them as well

I ordered this monitor the other day from the euro store. How long did u have to wait on delievery? I really needed to upgrade from my lame 19'(which also came from the FT store) and figured I'd rather get 1 for next to nothing that use my own cash.

Is there a thread on 2p2 about the FTP store where I can complain about my fkn order that hasn't been shipped for 2 months now?

I'm waiting now two months for my 30" Monitor and my Sennheise headphones, support just told me 3 weeks ago that they didn't have them in stock but the order will go out on 19 June... Nothing happened from there.

Just fkn pissed that they stop anything from just because you cashout your whole bankroll..... CRAP****

btw. it was from the EU store

I am not sure the exact amount of time, but I believe that it was right between 2-3 weeks from day ordered until they arrived.

Message from FTP store when i also inquired about new items and price reductions.

Hell,

Thank you for your email. We currently have no plans of updating the
prices in our FTP store. While we try to offer the best selection of
items we are only able to offer what is made available by our Distributor.
A lot of people have expressed the fact that the value of these items
have dropped in price from various online stores but our prices remain the
same from our various vendors and the prize drops seen may be caused by
other factors.

Please note most items that are added or replaced are due to previous
items being discontinued by the manufacturer. We currently are missing
the Sony Vaio and the 30" monitor which have been discontinued and we are
currently awaiting a replacement. Other items are currently being
considered but they are in preliminary stages of consideration and cannot
yet be discussed.

Also note that we are not responsible for Rakeback deductions. Any
questions about your Rakeback must be directed at your affiliate.

Thank you
Carlos

Assuming that the above is true and not just some BS cut'n'paste boilerplate, Full Tilt needs a new distributor that a) carries more than a handful of items and b) doesn't shaft them on pricing.

Or they could just offer #$#@$ giftcards like PokerStars does. It's not that hard, and it's not that complicated, Full Tilt!

The way I compare store items is as follows:

Take the point value of the item and divide by 200. That is what FTP values the item at, and thus, the amount it will ding your MGR.

Multiply that by 27% (.27) to see what it will cost you in rakeback to purchase the item.

Then, do some research via google, amazon, nextag, pricegrabber, newegg, whatever to find the lowest price incl. shipping (at a retailer you'd be willing to buy from.)

From this price, subtract your cost in rakeback; that is your effective discount.

Now, divide your discount by the # of points in thousands to get your discount (in dollars) per thousand points. The better value items give you a discount of over $3 per 1k points, and the worse value items are typically in the $2.5 to $3 per 1k points range.

Obv there is a multitude of ways you could come up with to compare value but that is the method I use.

By this method, based on prices of $1319 for the 50" at 375k points, and $895 for the 37" at 195k points, you get a $2.17 discount per 1k points for ordering the 50" plasma and a $3.24 discount per 1k points for ordering the 37" lcd.

I was going to hold off for the 50" but upon crunching the numbers I decided I'd get the 37".

However, I do see now that the 37" is available for the low low price of $834 after shipping from some retailer I've never heard of. Even if I use that price for comparison purposes (though I would be very wary of actually buying anything from this place IRL) I get a discount of $2.93 per 1k points which is still pretty good.

I saw the 37" tv at amazon for $750 and its very possible that includes shipping. Also, i read its a solid tv and gets the job done nicely.

This means this 30" no longer exist for that model. So i would assume they dont have an estimated time as to whether they put a 30" in or something simliar that the distributor is offering.

Yes, but we are poker players. We don't want to get the job done, we want a 60" for our bathroom.

37 really is very small

I don't understand where I could put it and have it be big enough except for the wall behind my desk

you can't put it on a tv stand against the wall in even a small room unless you put your couch/chair in the middle of the room

please hurry up and add new tvs that are a decent size. I finally found something I could use my points for and now I have to wait

I think they will send you the new model because they won't even stock the old one anymore, but I would definitely email and find out.

LOL. Agree that the 37" is not big enough for a main tv. But i might actually buy it for a bedroom tv or office tv. A 46" or 50" in there seem a little excessive. I currently have a 46 in my living room, and the next big TV i get Im sure ill want all the cool new gadgetry alot of them have now (internet, etc.) Full Tilt's TVs are nice but not really top of the line and these TVs just cut in half every year price wise. With that said, im still debating just getting the 50, putting the 46 in my bedroom. I have enough points for the 30" monitor, but who knows how long that will be til they have something else. It would really suck to get the 50", then the next week they put the 30" monitor back in the store and I have to wait forever to actually get it again. DECISIONS DECISIONS
