These are pretty fun played about 20 of them yesterday, anywhere between 1-4 at a time. The highest pool i got was 6x. Fun concept overall, tones of fish at the 1$ buy-in. People often shoving very wide on the first couple hands, seems especially true when the pool is only 2x....

No, I am not planning to engage in back and forth discussion on rake for this format in this forum but as always I will read and consider any comments made.

Btw, what does the 4/5-table limitation in FTP/PS.es versions exactly mean? I understand that one can't be regged to more than 4/5 tourneys per stake at the same time, but is a player allowed to

1) be registered to more than 5 JPSnGs at a time in total at different stakes,

2) be playing more than 5 JPSnGs at a time in total at different stakes,

3) be playing more than 5 JPSnGs at the same time at the same stake (e.g. registering to 1 more every time 1 starts, so that s/he's always regged to 5 but also playing some more already; one player I know once ended up playing 19 Twisters of the same limit simul-ly this way)?

(I can't really check it myself without losing quite a bit of EV as the Russian ISP block is stopping FT points from being tracked correctly. Erm, OK, I'm just too lazy to reinstall the client, transfer $ from PS and, what's the most difficult, write a working hotkey script for FTP as it's hard to 6-table JPSnGs without it )

But why are there no $20/25 JPSnGs?

Anyway, the paytable for $50 ones is:

$48+$2 Jackpot SnGs (rake = $2 = 4%)

2x buy-in – 71,500 out of 100,000 (71.5%)
4x buy-in – 23,325 out of 100,000 (23.25%)
6x buy-in – 4,000 out of 100,000 (4%)
10x buy-in – 750 out of 100,000 (0.75%)
20x buy-in – 385 out of 100,000 (0.385%)
100x buy-in – 30 out of 100,000 (0.03%) split 75/15/10
500x buy-in – 7 out of 100,000 (0.007%) split 75/15/10
2,000x buy-in – 3 out of 100,000 (0.003%) split 75/15/10

Decided to play some $10 sngs yesterday on my phone while killing time waiting in my car. After 10-15 sng with $20 and $40 prize pools, BOOM $5000!
Couldn't believe my eyes...
Still in shock I look down at my 1st hand. AA! Click the raise btn making it 40, sb snap 3-bets making it 120, I take a couple of seconds before shoving it all in. SB calls.
I sit all alone in my car screaming my lungs out HOLD!! Literally looking like a crazy person. My Aces holds up.
Guaranteed $750 at least, with a great chance at $3750.
Now HU 1k vs 500 chips. 10-15 hands goes by without any action. Blinds goes up to 20/40. I look down at ATo making it 80. BB shoves AI for about 400. I call facing K8o. 65% chance to win $3750!
BB flops like a pro, not only hitting a 8 , but also 3 hearts giving him a FD. Turn and river gives no help for me.
A couple of more hands goes by before I shove AI with 97o for my remaining 400 stack on 25/50 level. Villian calls with QTs. The board bricks out and the rest is history.
Pure pain to hit a Jackpot but not winning it.

Why not just make a deal?

I don't play these games but surely it's +ev to make a deal before any cards are dealt in a game where any edge is tiny?

Unfortunately the "discuss a deal" option is not available in the Android app. This was quite frustrating and I would definitely made a deal if I had that option

I dont get this six handed hyper turbos on poker stars are typically raked at 4-7% depending on stake level. and the best achieve a small roi of like 2%.

heads up sit and goes typically get raked at a smaller % i think i saw 1.5% or something to that affect. the less players the less hands the less chance of an edge is the rake even beatable in these games?

They're highroller games - they still allow for a better use of a huge bankroll than reg-infested high-stakes 6-man hypers or cash , and they run more consistently (especially than turbos). I don't think that jackpot ROIs are in the region of 2%, they must be bigger in a very long run, making the rake not that big an issue.

any1 knows if sharkscope or a similar site will track the jackpot game results eventually. at this point sharkscope gives you the option to checkmark (jackpot) in the advance search but there is 0 data showing when you make this specific search in sharkscope.

It shouldn't show anything for Stars/FTP because 'jackpot' games in its discourse are primarily iPoker ones (I suspect, specifically KO SnGs). In essence, this Sharkscope option is rather useless.

I don't think that even iPoker jackpot SnGs fall into this category (they're regarded simply as regular speed SnGs iirc) - the 'jackpot' sign in iPoker's lobby, ironically, applies pretty only to KO SnGs with automatically distributed 'jackpots' (i.e. bounties), whereas 'real' JP SnGs (I mean Rio etc. but not Twister) only have the word 'jackpot' in their titles but no special lobby attribute sign because their jackpots are claimed manually via support.

This is a really cool concept. I haven't played much poker in a while but these have made me want to come back. They have the top-heavy lottery aspect that make MTTs appealing, but can be played in a much shorter amount of time. Plus, 3-handed is an unusual structure, meaning there's less existing analysis and therefore more potential to find profit opportunities.

The variance is high, but I'm not sure how it translates to bankroll requirements. The distrubution is kind of that of an enormous MTT that has a really flat payout structure. Winning is very unlikely, but a third of players get a min-cash.

I mean they are super soft and you prob can crush most limits with a high roi. But variance and profitabilty don`t stand in any relation. The variance is prob higher than in MTTs. Unless you don`t mind grinding breakeven forever or have multiple friends who would do some sort of sharing it`s not worth to grind.
