Ok I'll try to make this as short and sweet as possible

- I opened an account on FT
- Made a deposit
- Played 2 games on my laptop (cashed $225 in one & bricked the other)
- Logged out, ate some dinner
- Went back to play some more, this time on my desktop
- Tried to login & got a message saying I couldn't be logged in and to contact loginsupport@fulltiltpoker.com
- I email asking why I can't login & get this response:

Hello xxxxx

After reviewing your account, we have determined that you are closely associated with a player who is currently suspended or under review by Full Tilt Poker.

We have determined you are associated to this player due to one or more of the following parameters:

* Accounts have logged in from the same computer/IP address.
* Transfer of funds between both accounts.
* Similar information on accounts.
* Shared payment processors.

For security and privacy reasons, we are unable to release the Player ID of the account in question.

To maintain the integrity of our site and for the protection and security of our players, Full Tilt Poker must take all precautions and suspend closely-associated accounts. Once the associated player resolves their issues with us, we'll be happy to reopen your account.

Thank you for your cooperation.

At this point I'm super confused so I re-read the email about 5 times, then arrive at the only logical conclusion I can think of:

"Accounts have logged in from the same computer" I just purcahsed my desktop (used) about a week ago. Perhaps the previous owner had a full tilt account with some kind of issue. Because when I was playing on my laptop everything was fine. As soon as I log in on my desktop...BAM!

So I send them an email explaining my theory and ask what steps I need to take to re-instate my account. Here's their response:

Hello xxxxx,

Thank you for your response.

We understand your frustration with being unable to access your Full Tilt Poker account. However, we must take all necessary precautions by suspending accounts that are closely associated to accounts that are under review.

In the absense of a resolution by this third party your account will remain suspended indefinitely.

While I recognize that we are not providing you with a full and frank reason for your suspension, you must appreciate that due to privacy concerns we cannot disclose the exact nature of these issues to a third party, even if they are directly affected by them.

While the outstanding issue may not involve you directly, we must adhere to this security policy. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we will contact you once our review is complete.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Regards,

Chris

Seriously? I'm so frustrated right now. How was I supposed to know if the person I bought my desktop from had outstanding issues with Full Tilt? I don't do private eye work on the owners before I purchase a computer. Maybe I should start. So now all the money I just deposited plus the money I won is just down the drain? With no logical explanation or recourse? Really? I feel like someone is playing a bad joke on me.

So a friend of mine told me about this forum and said there's a guy here named FT Sean and that he may be able to help me. So here I am....please help!

Is the person you purchased the computer from the same person who told you about FTP Sean?

All sounds like a huuuuuuuuge misunderstanding, I'm sure FTP will have this resolved straight away.

Can a moderator please confirm that this is a lie by performing an IP check?

OP's post definitively does not read like a 2+2 newbie.

When I read the post, I can't help but think of the South Park episode where Kyle pays Cartman not to rip on his cousin, but Cartman can't help himself, then tries to talk his way out of it afterwards. So when I read this post in my head, I'm doing it with a super innocent Eric Cartman voice.

It's all just an unfortunate misunderstanding I'm sure.........

So the OP is new to the forum but realizes right away that when he edits a post he should state a reason for doing so?

Sorry OP but I just don't buy this story.

Oh and check out my reason for editing this post...

Pay FTP the money "your friend" owes them, then maybe you`ll "both" get your accounts back.........

Actually, when you go to edit a post the box 'reason to edit' is clearly visible. I don't know about the rest of the rationale but the fact that he knew to add a reason for an edit means noting to me in the context.

More than anything, if FTP Sean is reading this I'd more like to find out where the hell my funds are.

If you bought a used computer and didn't reformat it your silly. If you think any competent person would believe your story about your "used" computer your silly.

Welcome to the forums

Correct me if I'm wrong but the MAC address would still be the same even if you did this. OP do like others have said and send FTP the receipt for the computer.

You are right. Forgot about that. Maybe that could be the link but that would be a big coincidence. GL OP Sean will help you out. Did you contact the original owner yet to see if he had a FT account?

While OP certainly may be FOS, FTP locks way too many accounts, with way too little reason, even less explanation, huge time delays in correspondence, and a very slim chance of ever getting it reinstated.

I refuse to keep money on FTP anymore because I've done transfers with a bunch of people, and I really don't need to lose my balance because one of their deposits ends up falling through.

also, MAC address thing is pretty far-fetched, although possible. seems like IP address or transfers would be more likely.

Maybe it was the famous 'buy a dekstop get an internet-wired house free' promotion I hear so much about.

Not related to this case, but a lot of ISP;s use a pool of IP's which could mean you get the bad egg in the pool.

FAIL

FT can tell what PC you're using not just IP.
