What is wrong with you? You cried about token not being RSA in last 4 of your posts in this thread while you have no clue what RSA actualy is. RSA is brand, token is manufactured in TW/CHI/KOR like all the others. Its not even technology its just f-kin brand.

This. Everyone stop worrying about whether the actual brand is RSA or not, it's not a big deal.

And as far as the procedure goes, I hope they find a different way for users to disable additional authentication, but frankly it doesn't matter much. If someone had a keylogger on your computer (at the point where you're submitting your security answer to enable the token), they would already have been able to use it to get your password and your account would have already been compromised.

Lol, that seems bulletproof......... If they can get your email/security question they don't even have to be able to log in to your account or have the token/code to disable the token. Seems like you should have to log in and do something that way.

How about this?

I still think having a sheet of one time codes like Stars does is the best, and having to be able to log into the account to make any changes/disable token.

When you get the RSA token from Stars, after you enter its serial no. displayed on the backs of RSA token you are required to choose a 4 digit pin. When logging into Stars you have to enter your password + 4digit pin + RSA code.

Hypothetically even if your "friend" steals the RSA token and he knows your password, he still needs the 4 digit pin to gain access to your account.

On the other hand, based on the info from this thread, if you can disable the FT token by email, if a hacker gains access to your email and disable the token, he can also gain access to the FT account.

True, Stars does this way better but it could work as a temporary solution until they get it right.

BTW, in stars the whole RSA password is 4+6 digits. Four that you have chosen yourself and six which the token generates (e.g. 0000123456). Does FTP use these additional 4 digits? There is not a single word about anything like that in FTP website. Not that it's that big of a deal, but it does provide additional safety if your token/phone were to be stolen.

So does the mobile token from the store work now? It still says "coming soon" in the description, but it also gives me the option to buy it.

Not gonna bother with a physical one unless I can (somewhat easily?) use it as a backup to my iPhone.
