Sorry I saw it mentioned above and it hadn't been edited. I thought I would mention it since it would help specify my situation. PS thanks for fixing my punctuation.

After requesting and receiving a check earlier n the month I was told it was no good (after I had put it in my bank)

I was told to re-request a check which I did a few days ago. Now FTP just emailed me and said I was declined and to use another method?! What should I do? I have only used checks for WD's in the past I dont know what to do.

Do you know or suspect the reason you were declined for a check?

No, I have never been declined before and have only used check method in the past. Maybe because of this latest batch with wrong numbers on the check?? Maybe because the funds from the last check they gave me are still in my bank account but have also been put back in my FTP account? I really dont know I just want to cash out and have been trying to do so for about 3 weeks now.

Well I would e-mail them and just wait for an answer. They should have told you why your request was denied. I had a request denied once but they clearly stated it was because I exceeded my limit of requests per time period.

That's a troubling story. Keep us posted please.

Status: DECLINED

Your withdrawal request has been declined. Please review your
personal account information to ensure that it is the same as the
information stored with your payment processor. You may correct
any of your personal information and try again. If you are still
unsuccessful, you may wish to try one of the other available
withdrawal methods.

I emailed them right away of course haven't heard back yet. I did double check my account information and sure enough my town name was missing a letter - unbeknown to me. I changed it to the proper spelling hopefully that is the problem and not something else. Weird thing is I know I didnt change it yet I had a check approved and delivered to my house less than 2 weeks ago no problem.

so i guess if we receive a check the best way to ensure it's bad/good is count the digits in the account number?

9 digits bad / 10 digits good?

I have a check with 9 numbers in the middle and 10 numbers on the right. Which one is supposed to be correct.

For anyone who is interested in my progress I called the processor and they told me the check was good. Apparently the Bank the processor was using left out a number in the account number of the check. I read him off my number and he said it was good. So it wasn't FTP's fault it was the banks.

just thought I'd chime in on what I found out yesterday.

I got a check dated 8-25 from CA, took it to the bank it was drawn on (those of you who have gotten one of these know which bank I'm referring to) and they verified that the check was good. However, it wasn't easy, as the check was drawn on a bank that went under and has since been bought by the bank that had it's name on the check, and the tellers could not find the account. Long story short, the check I got had a 10 digit account number and apparently is good. Keep in mind guys, you should be able to contact the bank your check is drawn on to find out if the check is good if you're worried about a bad one. Granted a check can be good today and bad tomorrow, but at least you'd know that it was drawn on a real account and stuff.

Sorry if this is confusing, but I"m trying not to mention bank names.

That's a total of $276 in fees.

I have sent 3 emails to FTP cashier and support over the past 3 days and have not received a single real response (I received 3 automated emails saying they got my emails).
Today I got a response from FTP. They put the $2,000 back into my FTP account and credited me $300 for my trouble. I got the bank to remove 2 of the overdraft charges but I'll be heading over there in person once my bank wires get there ($1,000 and $500) to see if they will reduce them further.

When did you email full tilt? I emailed them 3 days ago about a 12 dollar bounced check fee. My bank debited my account for the bad check today and I just got another $12 fee probably for another bad check that was deposited. I have tried emailing them and so far have heard back nothing.

Maybe this has been speculated about before......

but what if you open up a bank in another country and then FT sends your money to you and you send it to the bank in that other country, then you just write a check to yourself from that bank in another country and deposit it in your American bank? Can someone tell me the flaw in this scheme (there must be one)?

Here's a couple (there's more, but that's for others )

1. It's usually not that easy to open a foreign bank account without a foreign residence or visa or such.

2. Your example usually implies crazy double currency exchange fees.

just a question for the people who have received checks from ftp within the last week or two. Has it been coming via US mail or fedex. if it is fedex is it a courier taht you have to be there to sign for and what time of day are they coming? has anyone gotten a cashable check this week? thanks.

what time of the day are they coming?

that depends on where you live and the route your courier takes...nobody can answer that question for you
