I've requested several checks recently and received them all in a very timely manner. Most have been fairly small but I did request one large one.

I think they're running well at the moment.

Please do not post the names of the processors or the banks that are helping us. You should contact a Mod and have your post deleted or edited.
Thank you

I just logged on to ask this same question. Has anyone ever been questioned by there bank where the check was from? What did you say? I just withdrew the other day from FTP by paper check for the first time and I bank at a small credit union. Thanks

If you are being asked questions about the check it has nothing to do with them trying to prevent internet gambling, just remember that. They are trying to prevent Nigerian refund check schemes, you are not being interrogated they just want to know you got the check from a trusted source. Say you do consulting work for {company name on check}.

??

these are checks drawan on large US banks. there should be no questioning by bank staff, and the law says they can't put a 10 day hold on ANYTHING unless the have direct reason to suspect it is fraudulent. in this case, you should have gotten a written notice of the 10 day hold.

the checks are coming way fast.

As most of you know, nobody at the poker sites will give you a direct answer regarding checks. They always give some canned BS. It seems as if most poker sites are using ZP now. Bodog used to use a place in GA that got checks to me in 3 days or less. They switched with tragic results. After calling ZP (never spoke to anybody) and several poker sites' cust. serv. numbers, I have finally pieced together a reasonable account of what happens when a player makes a withdrawal. First, the site has to approve the withdrawal. They are notorious for stalling on this step. Once the site approves it, they send a notification to the payment processor of the amount and destination. BUT THE PAYMENT PROCESSOR DOES NOT SEND FUNDS AT THAT TIME. They CAN, if they so choose. That decision is usually based on the amount of the check and the history with the site and/or player. Most checks $500 or less will be sent. Most checks over $500 will be sent when the processor receives funds, which could take some time. The next step is to actually transfer the funds to the payment processor. Poker sites do not send the full amount in one transfer directly to the payment processor. They split it up and bounce it around several banks before it finally reaches the processor. Depending on the amount, this can take a couple of weeks. Hence the delays.

In my experience, there is little rhyme or reason to the amount of time it takes to receive a check. Sometimes I get them in under a week. Sometimes I get them in three weeks. But I generally get checks for smaller amounts faster. I have thus changed my cashout routine from making one large withdrawal to making several withdrawals, the highest of which is $500 + fees. The fees are usually $40, which is exorbitant, but well worth it in my opinion to get my money two weeks sooner. I usually cash out around $2500-3000 per month, 90% of which is gravy, so $80-120 doesn't sting too badly.

Sorry to add to the clutter but I can't find this info in Search:

What is the name of the sender on the check?

And does anyone happen to know if I'll have trouble cashing the check at these institutions?
Wells Fargo
Bank of the West
local credit union

Thanks
R

from a banking, bank processing standpoint, this scenario is very likely. the scenario has no procedural fact errors. why would he make it up?
