Oh, I forgot to post about how my pick up went after getting declined because of the payment processor problem or whatever.

Well, I went to my local Winco Store and I proceeded to go to the customer service area to get my money. I asked the lady if this was the place to pick up money and she pointed at a automated telephone where I had to talk with this automated machine for 10 minutes to release my funds. I didn't have to fill out any green form or whatever and the whole process was rather fast (except the fact that the stupid voice recognition couldn't understand what I was saying a few times). I hope that this method of withdrawing will come back because it was so fast and easy!

And this is still more about the big picture than it is about any one site. Thus far Stars has eluded most of the problems, though they have had at least one month where they couldn't get people their checks. They kept their customers very well informed however and were the most proactive in compensating their customers. It would be nice if all sites had support as good as Stars, and imo that's the primary reason Stars has managed to avoid being cursed by a significant percentage of their customers at this point. I'll guarantee you one thing though. If the landscape of online poker ever gets so bad that you see sites like FTP going under or leaving the market, Stars won't be far behind. This is an uphill battle that all gaming operators (and their players) are going to have to fight if we're ever going to be able to overcome the joke that is the UIGEA.
It's continually stupid to put fullshill poker in the same post as pokerstars.

There is just now another thread in this Forum about PokerStars canceling its instant cash withdrawal method. Coincidence? Maybe PokerStars recently hired the FTP support team in a lateral move?

Or perhaps this has a lot more to do with economics and law than with the individual site(s)?

Perhaps again it is time for me to suggest that for every 3 complaining e-mails you send to FTP you send at least one to your congressional representative?

+1

once again, for those that didn't take the 15 seconds to fill out the latest PPA letter to congress...here is the link. I'm going to forward it to even more people I know due to skallagrim's motivation

QFT, I'd even go a step further and suggest you print out that letter after you email it and take a few minutes to put it in an envelope and address it to your representative(or fax it). It's one thing for a representative to receive a few dozen emails from the ppa via you, it's another thing for them to receive a tangible stack of letters, which shows these voters know very well who you are and are voting on this issue. I was told a few years ago by a great polisci teacher who spent most his life working/campaigning for elected officials/representatives that 1 tangible letter = 100 emails in his opinion. He told stories of working for representatives who before an upcoming vote in which the rep didn't really care about, he would would have his assistants go over and sort (pro/con) the piles of letters he received on such and such issue, and if one pile was significantly bigger, the representative would tend to vote that way.

I agree with this..IMO the UIGEA was passed because the "powers that be" viewed as a "freeroll" that nobody cared about and a "cheap" way to pay back a select "FEW" that supported them...The letter writing helps to change that perception..."WE" are not a "freeroll" any longer...

Ok I read this page and most the last page. It looks like cash refund is down from ftp and stars. Any idea when it's gonna come back? I'm assuming it's not coming back someone please tell me I'm wrong.

I hardly ever cash out and I wanted to cash out a little bit for this weekend and was pleasantly surprised to see that cash refund is gone.

I just ran into the problem that everybody else has with the loss of cash pickup the other day. I went back and read the last 8 pages of this thread looking for an explanation from somebody over what's happened and I didn't get a satisfying answer.

Has anyone out there had a str8 answer from FTP support regarding cash pickup?

Does anybody know if this withdrawal method is dead and gone already?
