so with this + regular rakeback + iron man, how is it compared to supernova on stars?

anyone know what the sell rate for the bonus is? Like for example, points were selling for 3.5/1k in marketplace.. what is it now for 2k bonus

Until now it was the best option for most people (and still deducted at 100%). Now, even with a deduction the cash bonuses is the better value option.

This works out to a rate of $4.17/1000 points.

After the inevitable MGR deduction this is $3.04/1000 points.

1000 points at 6-max requires an MGR of $166.67.
1000 points at 9-max requires an MGR of $111.11

Effective rakeback:

6-max: 1.8%
9-max: 2.7%

However after black card double points this effectively doubles the rakeback so 3.6% and 5.4% for 6-max and 9-max respectively. I'm not jumping for joy, but this is not an insubstantial increase and the best part is that it scales fine with high volume as opposed to iron man in which you earn less the more you play past the minimum requirements for iron man.

This. Also given the relatively cheap $50 bonus I expect there will be a bit more dead money floating around in the pool. Likely not enough to notice - but it's still good for us all.

lol unbelieveable... looks like best value for FTPs will still be in the marketplace. If you were already selling your points, you get basically zero RB increase except for 2x points, so its basically gonna be about a 2% RB increase.

If this is true then it's OK I guess. Obviously not a huge revamp of the system, but a little extra value including the 2x ft points.

If you earn 480k points starting at blackcard status and buy the 2000$ bonus, its ~5.8% extra rakeback for tourney players at the double point level. If you play only during happy hours and get 3x FTPs then its ~8.75% extra rakeback. (not including MGR hits and bonus clearing times)

2,000$ / [(480,000 FTPs / 2) / 7] = 0.0583

etc.

Well, since I only ever planned to sell my FTP points in the marketplace and get like 3.4/100 but then have to take a RB hit too.. these cash bonii are better value than that and a lot less hassle right?

No. Cash is 0.00417 and tourney tix are .0046ish. So I'm still going w tourney tix.

Although they did say there would be tickets in the black card store as well... if they do that then they'd have to be ******ed to make them less value than the regular store.

Not really... Depends on your iron man month level. The RB can actually be pretty large if you're a 36+ month iron man

I assume your referencing those cash bonuses that are in the ironman store, right?

this.

and FTOPS/miniFTOPS tickets have a better value than similarly priced tickets for non-special tournies.

Not sure what you consider "extra rakeback", but we were already getting 1x points, so gold card only adds 2.9ish "extra"

Substantially better unless you are a mega grinder.

6-max: blackcard is better unless you put in 300k+ VPP at Stars.
9-max: blackcard is better unless you put in 500k+ VPP at Stars.

math for rakeback/ironman

math for black card bonuses

For 500 points a day you get:

9-max: 41.2% ironman/rakeback + 5.4% blackcard = 46.6%
6-max: 36.2% ironman/rakeback + 3.6% blackcard = 39.8%

However, due to the nature of iron man if you put in substantially more volume than 500 points a day your effective rakeback percent will decrease. So I suppose the overall impact of this update is to just reiterate what everybody already knew. For low to moderate high volume, FTP wins. For huge volume, Stars wins.

Double MGR-hit? For buying + clearing? If so: "L0L"

I've asked to Italian FTP manager about MGR and the bonuses/items hit it. Sick..

only thing that could save this is no mgr hit. 99.14% chance it hits mgr tho

Is this calculated with max ironman bonus (36+ months)? What if, like the vast majority of people, you are less than that.

Plus the pleasure of playing whenever you want on PS, compared with the insanity that comes with playing 25+ days per months on FTP, has to be worth something.
