I was hoping someone on here could help me out with this because I have sent numerous emails to stars support and gotten no response. In 2007 I requested to have my stars account closed because I wasnt being financially responsible and wanted to take a break for a few months so I told them to shut down my account. fast forward three years later and I sent about four different emails to please reactivate my account and heard nothing back. What can I do to get my account reactivated?

I don't think anyone here knows. If it is anything like live poker, you're screwed or have to jump through a ton of hoops. This is taken very seriously.

My personal advice would be to show a sense of patience. Even send proof that you are financially responsible(it's not their business but it couldn't hurt). Just be mature, rational, and see what happens. As I am typing this I remember that it may be something out of their control and something to do with whatever company sees over them concerning responsible gambling.

That's what I would do. Send a well-written polite letter with a recent bank statement.

It sounds like this is more of a CS issue than a "responsible gaming" issue, so all that shouldn't be necessary yet. It's not like they're telling him they won't reopen it; they aren't responding.

That said, OP, the reason you give for closing it sounds dangerously close to telling them you're a problem gambler. If that's what you did, you probably won't be able to get it open again, but Zinger's ideas couldn't hurt.

OK I will try that. Thanks for the responses. I did the same thing with full tilt and they reopened my account no problem. I miss playing on stars.

Email I received from Stars support after sending an email as suggusted earlier in this thread.

Is there anything else I can do? Anyone on here that works for Stars or has some kind of pull there that could at least have this be escalated to a manager or supervisor and have this be reconsidered? That email was over three years ago and obviously a stupid email to write. I feel like they should consider overturning it though at this point but this seems pretty serious.

"Hello

As we have explained in the past, unfortunately, your account will not be reopened for any reason.

The issue here isn't that you just sent us an email saying "please close my account", but you actually said "Please disable my account for ever and do not reactivate no matter what". PokerStars takes its responsible gaming obligation most seriously, so if we have permanently closed your account at any point, we will not reopen it.

As we have said all we can on the matter, please note that further emails won't be answered.

We wish you the best.

Regards,

JeffreyV

I do play on FT and Cake but I miss the stars tournaments. I guess I'm screwed here huh? Its my own mistake but I dont get why Full Tilt re enabled my account no problem and so did UB after I had sent them the same emails.

Unfortunately, there is 0% chance that Stars will reopen your account. It sounds like you may have a gambling problem (to them anyway), and they take that sort of thing very seriously. Your only choice is to play somewhere else. If you do have a problem though, you shouldn't be playing anywhere. Good luck to you and take care.

***EDIT*** The above e-mail from Stars confirms what I was thinking/writing before I actually posted this reply.
