I agree that this thread should be locked.

Even though I'm pretty sure most UB supporters in this thread are just leveling, I think some (uneducated) people may take them seriously. If there was ever a time for a lock, this is it.

What (where) is the best summary of the whole AP/UB story (UB in particular, but beyond the latest development that apefish brought)? I followed the AP one, but didn't noticed how UB got involved into that too. I know they now have a common management, but the cheating on both sites was going on for quite some time before the merge, or I misunderstood? How is it possible that they did it independantly?

Sorry I took so long to respond. I had no idea this thread would receive the attention it did. Most of the time I start threads they are too thought provocative for the mods and they are banished to low volume forums, locked or deleted.

I applaud the mods of this forum for not doing any of these things, despite their obvious distaste for the threads argument.

As far as the actual motive of the post, it was merely to illustrate a perspective (coincidentially my own) why one would continue to play on this "evil" sites you all decry.

When it comes to online poker (or poker in general) I would never purport to take any type of moral highground. In fact, I feel it to be generally disingeniune and dishonest to take any type of highground when engaged in an activity where I am trying to exploit the self-destructive addiction of others for my own monetary gain.

I play poker for my own personal enjoyment and some small monetary rewards. Period. I currently feel this is best served at UB and Absolute. Granted I once felt this was best served on Battlefield and was proven wrong to the tune of ~3000, which is pretty significant for someone who never plays above 100NL. Could I again be wrong about UB & Absolute and be screwed there, most definitely. But if this is the case I will definitely not turn to 2+2 for consolation, I will just take it as the cost of doing business in an unregulated, unscrupulous industry.
