How does one quickly get a cell phone bill? The place where I got my cell phone (Rogers) said there is no bill for a new customer. I will only recieve a bill after there has been usage and the next billing cycle hits.

I sent FTP the document that had my name, new address, company logo, monthly fees, start date, etc. They rejected it. I went back to Rogers and asked again. They printed out a documernt for me that was different but still mostly had the same info, but obviously was not "a bill".

FTP rejected that too.

Rogers is not refusing to print me a bill. They are saying there is no bill. I might have to wait 20 days, and this is the only utility bill that will be in my name.

here is FTP's actual wording:

Thank you for resending your documents.

We are pleased to confirm for you that your photo ID and bank statement have been verified.

However we cannot accept your telephone or wireless agreement as it doe snot meet the requirements. Please forward us an official phone bill which clearly shows usage and your name, address, issue date and company logo.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in this matter.

Have you tried using a screenshot of the cell website account page?

Not yet. My account page (online) still shows "no activity". But I am hoping something meaningful will appear there soon.

Good idea. Thanks.

I sent them a screenshot of the account page, but I'd had the phone for a couple weeks so there was usage.

Do you need to set up a new cell phone or can you switch over your existing phone? Also thoughts on sending them a credit card statement?

I got this phone call, then a follow up e-mail asking some more questions, then the e-mail you quoted.

It's been almost a week for me since getting that e-mail, with no further communication of any sort. I figure, I'll give them a week and then send a polite e-mail asking for an update.

Canada has an entirely different cellphone network. Your American phone would work, but there will be international roaming charges. Prepaid cellphones here are cheap and easy to get.

They specified a "utility bill". As I did not have the utilities in my name, I sent the cellphone statement instead and they accepted it. Pretty sure they won't like anything you can sign up for in America and then just submit an address change for (American cellphone/American credit card/whatever) since it would make it really easy to game the system.

Hopefully within a few days I have my privileges restored.

I've gone through the same steps, phone call and everything over a week ago, and have heard nothing back. Just wrote to them again asking for my status.

Has anyone successfully gotten Pokerstars to change their country of residence recently?

Thanks. I asked FTPDave, and he confirmed that. Also said they are now requiring the physical copy of the bill be scanned not a screen shot from online. I was wondering how long the cell phone bill took to arrive for you.

Is a local bank account necessary? I've moved to Jamaica for the summer and have a rental lease, but they will not let me get a bank account due to insufficient local ties. Can I just use neteller without a local bank account?

Also, will PS or FT accept a lease as proof of residence? I have this now and will sign up for cable/internet in a week. I have a local cell but it is prepaid, so I dont think that will help.

In regards to cell phone, I got a US/Canada plan from Verizon (in the States) for like $60/month that gives you 450 minutes calling in the US or Canada. Texts in Canada are like 20 cents each, etc. So, you don't necessarily need a Canadian cell phone, unless maybe you're tied into a long-term contract already in the US.

Still need the landline phone to get back on Stars, obv.

Is that calling to Canada or calling in Canada, because I know some plans give free calls between the US and Canada but not free roaming if you're in the other country.

Actually you only need to be available on a land line. You can use your neighbors. My roommate used the landlords. His PS now unlocked.

Hello guys. I am considering moving to canada to play online poker. I would like to know is having a tax return absolutely required to show proof of income? I didn't file for last year but will file within the next month or so and am aware there are penalties.

But i'm pretty sure there are some of you who moved there without a tax return because you started this year and made money and thus didn't need to file till next year right?

This is what i would like to know. If you have bank account and cash, is that good enough already? I will file my taxes by July but just wondering about those guys who have money to go but does not have proof of income because they started this year ... how would that work?

Thanks.

Non-zero chance that I get dinged with a huge roaming bill, but it was represented to me by the person at the store that I"m good. Guess we'll see.

Yes, the cell isn't good for getting your Stars account unlocked, but if you want to make a number of mobile calls while up here to Canada and the US both, it's a good option.

I drove across the border with some clothes and a laptop, told them I was on vacation. Rented a room by the month off Craigslist. No need to prove income either time.
(this works great if you're a cleancut middle aged white guy in a luxury car, YMMV)

some poker rooms just asks for a utility bill wherein they can see the new address that you have, it has to be registered under your name also and then an ID, use to work as a support for an online poker room thats basically what they need..
