I opened a CIBC account and am not able to make echeck deposits on Stars. I e-mailed support and they tell me echecks must not taking transactions from that bank. Whenever I try it tells me invalid bank details (even though everything is correct) I even confirmed the numbers with the bank today, and it simply isn't working.

I had originally used TD but closed my account there because their bank fees are high, and anytime I go into a TD branch there is like 2 tellers working and 40 customers in line. As a last resort I'll go back to them but would prefer not to.

Anyone have experience with BMO, HSBC, Scotia Bank or Royal?
Just need a basic account that works with echecks.

I have BMO and use E-checks with stars and no problems. The funds always show up next day after 5pm EST. I also use instadebit on FTP and no problems with that either.

For deposits, my RBC Visa was not allowed (by RBC) but my CIBC Visa was fine.

Are there transaction fees?

No transaction fees; the poker sites pay those. There is going to be currency vig when you load up the eWallet, though, and the same when you cash out from eWallet to bank account. That's assuming you set up the eWallet in US $.

Anyone have an experience with Scotiabank for pulling money OFF Stars?

this has been discussed before and the usual conclusion is that credit unions are the best options. National banks are much pickier and some are involved in the US market (RBC, TD) so they are very nervous about UIGEA stuff and sometimes close accounts related to gambling. Credit unions are local and don't usually have those problems.

I used to play on Party years ago. I don't know if it is still the same but back then, they set me up with a $10,000 credit line where I could just online bill pay to them and the money would be available immediately even though they wouldn't receive it for a couple of days.

I found a place near my house called 'Coast Capital Saving Credit Union', I'm going to open an account and see if that works. They also claim to have a free chequing account with no monthly fees and unlimited debit transactions. I've never been with a credit union before, but it is worth it shot.

I use HSBC and moneybookers. Never hand problems with e-checks or shipping 5k regular transactions to HSBC via mb bank wire. Avoid all other CDN banks. HSBC primary transactions are wires. Asians love the wires.

Bank of Montreal is the industry leader when it comes to online transactions. We have a policy in place to accept just these types of transactions and therefore, should never be declined.

Yes this is the credit union I use. The service is so much better than RBC, for a much lower cost. I just couldn't believe the major banks made you pay for thngs like debit transactions and just HAVING a bank account.

I really don't know why everyone in BC doesn't use credit unions because my experience there has been amazing compared to the big banks.

Never had any problems with poker-related money either.

Been with Coast Capital for many, many years - I actually first opened an account with them when I was a kid 30 or so years ago (and they were Surrey Metro Saving out here then). Always had good dealings with them, and the no-fee account really is no fees, at least for all the banking I do.

I can't tell you about direct funding from them though, sorry - I usually cash out by cheque, and haven't deposited in years.

Never had any problems with TD Canada Trust and Instadebit

How much r the bank wire fees at HSBC?

I use "instadebit" with RBC and have never had a problem, although I don't play on stars..i play on tilt.

I deposit with CIBC Visa and withdraw thru BMO. Never an issue with either one.

For those saying moneybookers, is it best to have the moneybookers account in US funds or CAD? other then my initial deposit, it should mostly be USD coming into the moneybookers account.

It all depends on whether more money will move from Moneybookers back and forth to the site, or from Moneybookers back and forth to your bank account. Whichever two will have the most money going back and forth should be the same currency.

I play a lot of different sites, and used to do a LOT of bonus whoring, so I moved way more money from sites to MB and back again. Therefore, my eWallet is in US $.
