This is the internet and the year is 2009, it's not too hard or inconvenient to have automated, detailed logs. More than that, AFAIK all other reputable big sites offer this.

Customer service should spend their time servicing the customer, IMO. Am I not allowed to forget to zip up all my hands and e-mail them to myself before ending my vacation?

I withdrew my money from cake on 8-14-09... i still have not recieved my check, on friday i emailed them asking where my money is. They told me once they get a tracking number they will email it to me ASAP. Today with still no email, i emailed again. Today they tell me to be patient and reassure me that once they have a tracking number they will email it to me.

SO FOUR WEEKS LATER, AND THEY HAVEN'T EVEN MAILED OUT MY CHECK YET, WTFFFF.

This is just pathetic, and i will def never play on cake poker again.

It seems that I am not getting my rakeback updates....I keep checking the "My Account VIP status" and it hasn't been updated in a couple days.

Really? I stand corrected. But still, querying large databases isn't as quick or automated as you might think.

This has happened to me a couple of times before. Support said that it was just a display error, and that all of my stats were being updated correctly. Both times I've had it happen, the problem went away within 2 days.

uh?

Assuming the database is actually a database, extracting all hands for a particular player for a 3 week period should be almost instant.

Where is Lee Jones??? Seems bizarre that he has been completely absent since half of the site (tournaments) have been down. Why not give us an update on things here Lee? As a DON player I am starting to think the tournaments are gone for good or at least for a significant period of time and I should just withdraw my whole account until they come back...

Anyone else regularly cash out of cake by checks ? If so, how long does the process usually take to get your check ?

I received this 7 days ago, but requested my check about 2 weeks ago

Valued CakePoker Player,

Please be advised that your cashout request has now been processed and the check will arrive at your mailing address on record with CakePoker by courier.

Hi folks -
First, my apologies for being incommunicado the last few days; I took the Labor Day weekend off with the family.

First, in case you don't know what all of the fuss is about, please read our official statement that came out over the weekend.

We had hoped to get the tournaments back up today, but we aren't 100% comfortable with the reliability of our network connection coming out of our colocation center. We could bring the tournaments back up now and they'd "probably" be okay, but I'm sure you'll agree that "probably be okay" isn't good enough.

We are putting everything we have into verifying our network reliability, and the moment we are comfortable with it, we'll bring the tournaments back. I honestly expect that to be sometime within the next 24-36 hours, but I won't make any promises.

In the meantime, we're running 3x Gold Cards as a small thank you for your patience, and we'll definitely do something for the tournament folks once we get the tourneys back online.

Thank you for your patience - it should just be a little bit longer.

Best regards,
Lee Jones

Hi Lee, I want to deposit on cake (as soon as these issues get fixed) but I'm Canadian and as of September 1st my VISA can't be used for poker sites. My question is are there any Canadian Visas that still work? What is the best way to deposit 600 on to Cake?

A good start would be

1)Lowering Don rake
2)Awarding Gold Cards for Tournaments
3)SNG Leaderboards with Gold Coin Prizes
4)Sometype of a addition to the bonus accounts of those of us who have not been able to play Dons the last 5 days.

I was looking forward to playing a ton of poker on cake over the 3 day weekend but wasnt really able too because I'm not really a cash player.

They have control of your money. This is the same as a store having control of your credit.

If a store
1)overcharge on cutomer's credit card,
2) got caught by the customers
3)then said we will decide later how to fix this, maybe we will return it if the customers jump at our orders( deposit refund) or maybe we will give the customers merchandise of our pick (tournamnts, gold cards etc,)
4) the customers would DEMAND a FULL REFUND!
Lee has no comment.

Lee!! Please allow HUDS,you would get so manyyyyyyyyyyyyy more people who could Multi-table. I would 20+ table no problem if I could use a HUD. Also you should lower the check min as many fish will not get to 500 or not much above it so they wont deposit.
But HUDS would earn Cake sooooo much more Rake if the regs could 20+ table.

I was refering to HUDS. Alot of players on Cake like the fact that HUDS arent allowed since Cake is the only site with a fairly large player base accepting american players that doesnt allow them. If they were allowed there is really zero reason to play on Cake tbh. Alot of people would just use their own HUDS and play on Stars or Tilt where there is more game selection. Look back in the thread and other Cake threads and you can see the debate.

Quick question....is there a limit to how many transfers of $ one can receive in a single day?

[Yes] I knew what you were referring to [regarding HUDs], just wondered what the general thoughts were, thanks for clarifying!
There are two schools of thoughts about HUDs:

1. HUDs are a fine thing and allow people to play many tables simultaneously because the HUD provides enough information to make quick "Just got here and need to take an action Right Now" decisions.

2. HUDs are undesirable because they further increase the gap between the sharks and the fish, and make fish-finding too easy for the sharks.

PokerStars is in school #1. Cake is in school #2. We consider being in school #2 to be an important market differentiator. [1] Cake management is, as far as I can tell, 100% on board with school #2 (they were in that school before I got there) and we have no plans to change for the foreseeable future.

Best regards,
Lee Jones

[1] Speaking as Lee Jones, personally, this is one of the compelling things that brought me to Cake. I think that the ever-increasing technology in the hands of the sharks represents a danger to the entire online poker ecosystem. This is particularly true unless/until the U.S. fully opens its doors and account funding becomes as easy as buying a book from Amazon.
