Update: I sent email to Cake support and they responded within an hour with this message:

Hello xxxxx,

Thank you for your email. Every effort is made to pay your earnings directly into your account within 48 hours after the end of the weekly payment cycle. We will credit your account with rakeback as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your patience and apologies for this inconvenience.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Ronnie

Here is my horrible and ongoing experience with CakePoker...

Around November 2011, I was interested in trying "real" poker. I'm a novice player & have tinkered on free sites, but I wanted to see the difference in real money play. A friend (we live in the US) recommended CakePoker, so I went on and made a deposit through my debit card of $200. I began play in very small games, wasn't really winning or losing, just staying around the even mark and going for experience.

After a few days, I noted on my bank statement that I had a $6 charge in addition to my bank's fee for the transaction. I contacted CakePoker via email and told them I was unhappy with the $6 fee and wanted it returned. They told me it was my bank's charge. I spoke with my bank, who confirmed they had nothing to do with that fee. I went back and forth with CakePoker several times via email, and I ultimately told them to refund the $6, or I would make a formal complaint. My account was shut down within an hour. And they had my $200.

I continued to email and was told they would send a refund request through their processor and that it would take around 7 to 10 days (or maybe it was 21 days, I don't remember). I waited the appropriate time, no money was refunded. We went back and forth like this for 2 months, with constant promises that my money was on its way, but nothing ever showed up. Finally, I called my bank, explained that this company had my money but shut me out of the website. My bank investigated and eventually refunded the money to me.

I thought this was all over and done, but I was wrong. Last night, I received a call from a collection agency. CakePoker is saying that I fraudently disputed the transaction, that it is converstion of funds, and I either pay up or this goes on my credit report.

Any advice?

I highly doubt they can send it to a collection agency. If they do just dispute the charge and tell them you do not now or ever owe this money. If they continue to call you will take them to court.

Thanks. Regardless of whether or not they can send it to collections, they did. I guess taking them to court is my option, but for $200? I'll spend more than that in time off from work. So frustrating.

Ronnie was the customer service rep. I was talking to about my two week delay in payment ( at first I thought I only missed one payment, but I've missed two). Here is what she forwarded me:

"Hello Ronnie,
Apologies again for the continued delay, I'm afraid again we're waiting on a hardware issue to be resolved in order for us to make the payments below but we do hope for it to be resolved soon sorry again for the continued delay.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind Regards,

I have to believe that the rakeback issue is exactly what they say it is. Unless there is a run on international cash outs, it makes no sense holding back on funds when they're not honoring withdraws for five months. If you can't cash out its essentially play money so why hang on to it?

I have been waiting months for a check from Cake and I am fed up. I was going to contact the probably sham place that license Cake in Curacao. Has anyone ever tried contacting the place that license Cake in regards to Cake not paying its customers? It seems like a total joke when you go to Cake's website to look at the place licensing them. If you click on the link the licensing place website has cake email address to contact them.

Just be patient. What part of 4-5 months is it that people don't understand? Been this way awhile. Don't like it, don't play there.

Well maybe if Cake didn't have misleading statements regarding cashouts on their website, it wouldn't surprise customers at times.

Checks are generally delivered within 10 to 15 business days, however US clients may experience longer waiting periods at this time.

LOL. Give me a damn break. Cake is happy to take your money and but won't let you withdraw it. I don't play on the site any longer when it is just like playing for play money. You are something else and I dont know much about being a moderator on 2plus, but shocking that you are one with that comment.

So what if you cash out now expecting 4-5 months and it is 8-9 months? Do you have the same response? On top of that, what if someone played and cashed out not knowing about the huge delays, you know since cake isn't honest with the players on actual times.

The cash out times are not okay regardless if players know about them or not, period.

It's not new. Acting all surprised and indignant about it now is just lols. You're like small children who are told they can have a cookie after dinner and instead of just eating your damn dinner, you bitch and moan because you want a cookie NOW.

A year and a half later, it shouldn't be necessary to point out that the poker landscape is different now.

Perhaps I should clarify. It's not just lol you should have known, but a good chunk of lol you think you can do anything about it.
