Yeah the games and action have gotten really terrible. Surely the worst I have seen since I started playing there about two years ago. It is bad timing for Lee too that shortly after he signs on this happens and now everybody is unhappy with Cake. Hopefully it wasn't planned like that from the start. Timing just seems odd that immediately after Cake makes a huge hiring the games go to total **** and are almost unplayable. Sort of like when a new CEO takes over a corporation and decides to take the company in a different direction.
If Lee can get some improved software implemented and make some other needed changes that is great. If the games keep getting worse there isn't going to be anyone playing to experience all those great changes. Lots of the regulars I play with normally are already switching their action to others sites, I thought of myself as one of the more stubborn, loyal regulars toughing it out. But after the last two days I'm looking into alternatives as well. It's not even as if the regulars leaving are making the games much better, it is just making for a few less tables of dead games.

Interesting thing is Sportsbook doesn't seem to be bustling with lots of tables, so it seems both sites benefitted from sharing rooms. Whereas 1/2 nl full ring might have say 15 tables going at a time before it now seems like 6 at cake and 3 at sportsbook. For a loss of 6 tables going.

Then again this could be totally out of Lee's control and entirely up to Sportsbook to pull the tables. Which I think is what is being said or implied.

I just got an error 212 message at the login screen, which I assume is because they have decided my payment method is not legit?

I just created an account on their site today, and played for about 4 hours before signing off. Next thing I know, they won't even let me log back in. Thanks for taking my money I guess? I'll paste what their email reply says, but I doubt it will be anything of substance.

edit: apparently they said i already have a rakeback account on one of their sites, which isn't possible. this is really annoying.

They claim I already have a rakeback account established with them, which is completely false. They said I can cashout my deposit and play on this other phantom account. How am I supposed to cashout if my account is locked? It's a good thing it wasn't a huge deposit, and I'm learning a lesson never to deal with these scumbags again. Disgraceful business tactics, freezing accounts after they have already registered and deposited for the most bull**** reason ever.

Lee has been MIA in this thread since several posters relized how much cake games now sucks.

I used to play 10-14k hands a week and now am not playing at all, I too have taken my play to tilt until something changes.

Lee we deserve an anwser or at least a response as the last 20-30 posts have been all posters saying the same thing. Games at cake are dismal since this change and its not just the summer/wsop

Its going to take some time for the action to return.
1. They need to improve the software.
2. Recruit a couple of reputable Sports Books to use the client and do NOT divide the player base.
3. Advertise to your casual player, not just on 2+2 and other poker forums.

Any updates on the amount of players? Are the player counts still down?

I am in the process of switching rooms because I cant get rakeback from FT. And I narrowed it down to Cake or Power Poker or Players Only. I play $.50/$1 NL Full ring. And according to some calculators, I am losing about $200in rakeback a month.

If the counts are still low..... I might have to go to UB or AP (gasp!!!).

Barely anything running above 1/2. I'm starting to move my roll off Cake. I've been there 3 yrs+, but I can't play where there's no action.

Lee REALLY needs to respond to this. I know it's bad timing cuz of main event, but it has to be dealt with.

Hi folks -
[Yes, I'm at the WSOP. No, I haven't forgotten you all]

I hope you all realize that if I could snap my fingers and bring back all those games immediately, I'd do it in a New York minute. We at Cake don't like the reduction in traffic any more than you do. There are issues that we are sorting out with some of our network partners. We expect to get those issues taken care of in the relatively near future (perhaps a month or two). But there are complex business relationships and varying goals involved and it's just not as simple as all of us would like it to be.

I guess what I'm saying is that I hear you. But sometimes I can hear you, I can sympathize with your concerns, I can even empathize with your concerns, but I can't fix them immediately. We have been discussing this specific issue today, and will be discussing it more this coming week. Nobody thinks it's okay for us to just sit around while this is going on.

Thanks for your patience and understanding - we make every attempt to deserve both.

Best regards,
Lee Jones

Lol...it's your network...I don't see how the sportsbook skins could be doing something you never wanted them to do, or something that you never approved of them doing?

Also, how could you possibly not have a date as to when it will end?

Clearly the sportsbook skins want to branch out and grow on their own which makes sense....but isn't dividing the traffic up hurt EVERYONE involved?

Cake cash games are dead and the sportsbook fish are donking money back and forth when there are enough of them on to comprise a game made of zero cake players...

Thanks for the reply. A status report was desperately needed. TBH, I can't wait a couple months for this to be sorted out. I will have to take my business elsewhere, at least for the time being. It's just not possible to make this work when there is no action to be had. I've been happy with my time on Cake and if this gets sorted out, I'll surely return....but for now GG Cake.

Ah, I'm afraid you're mistaken. I work for Cake Poker. I work with the people who are responsible for the network, but my responsibilities (and control) lie with Cake Poker. So I have some input into the matter, but it's certainly not something that I can push a button and fix.

That said, the network people don't like the current situation either. But for reasons that are not my business to share here, it's not as simple as them pushing a button either.

Sometimes, what seems patently obvious from the outside is more complex when you're in the middle of it. I'm sure this seems patently easy to correct from the outside - from your perspective I'd probably think the same thing.

This appears very simple to me. We are about to enter football season, with football season comes droves of sports bettors. I have never met a sportsbook in the world that didn't want to protect those profits.

It stands to reason that they might want to have those funds circulating without going elsewhere.

Just a thought.

It is nice to have you answering questions though Lee.
