Bonus hunting? Bonus hunting?

Its kind of my hobby going over the net searching for bonuses (usually sports betting) to use, has been quite fun and profitable so far.

Anyway I also play poker casually, not enough to profit from but enough to break even at low limits so was wondering if there might be any poker bonus' around that would be worth for me to "hunt"

Could someone give me some idea of how much time/skill would be required to get how much money? I haven't played much recently but I usually break even or better on maybe $2 sngs, and micro sngs.

What sport betting bonuses have you found that are profitable? I'm not too familiar with sports betting. As for poker bonuses there was some good info here

Most of the big bookies have very profitable new member bonuses, I've done about 5 bookies new member bonuses this month and am up by about £200.

I read the thread you said, yeah was very good but I am thinking more about first deposit bonuses rather than kickback or rakeback. For example I sign up, deposit a certain amount for a bonus, clear it as quickly and safely as possible (im not such a good player to be completely honest), and then withdraw. Is it possible? I know I can hunt out the non-deposit bonuses, but just wondering if there are any tasty deposit bonuses that might be possible for me to clear?

so why not sign up through eg pokersavvy and get kickback and FDB at the same time?
ongame deals used to be good, but now with bwin leaving...
maybe try some ipoker skins

This.

Ignoring kickback bonuses is leaving money on the table - quite a bit of money.

And remember OP, the size of the bonus isn't nearly as important as the clearance terms.

Oh I didn't know you can get kickback and first deposit bonuses at the same time. I would have thought there would be something in the t&c about not being used in conjunction with another offer bla bla..

Yes, this is exactly my point Especially as I am not such a good player, I could probably only manage to break even up to NL5. Or $2 SNGS.

So anyway, are there any easy to clear bonuses out there? Not necessarily large ones but "easy" to clear on my level? Anything is fine if its easy.

This weekend I just bet through a sports bonus for just $15 profit, might not be much money but was easy to clear it and start looking for my next one Btw I've already taken skypoker and 888s non-deposit bonus, again small but easy to clear

Clearing a bonus at the microstakes usually takes a huge amount of grinding, it's not worth the time if you're a breakeven player imo. Even with lots of tables you're in for a long grind.

A $300 bonus @ 40% rakeback means you have to pay $750 in rake. If you pay 10bb/100 in rake at 5NL that's still 150k hands you need to play. And if you play tight you'll pay a lot less rake so it takes longer. Some bonuses are also less than 40% rakeback which means they take longer to clear as well.

Obviously you don't have to clear the entire bonus, but the amount of money you get for the time invested is very small as a breakeven player.

Yeah I figured something like this. Was just hoping that there might be 1 or 2 poker sites that offer some easy to clear bonuses.

In that case I want to change my search a little, apart from 888 and skypoker which I already did, what other poker rooms offer non deposit bonuses? In the case that the bonus cant be withdrawn I am still thinking that I could play a highish stakes tourney, if i win I can at least withdraw the amount over than the bonus. I know they are tiny, but I feel some satisfaction in getting a free $8

I think most non-deposit bonuses require you to pay x amount of rake before you can withdraw at all, but I'm not sure about that. The idea is that most people go broke before they can withdraw.

You can bonus-hunt in poker at the micros but you need to be capable of putting some serious volume in. We're talking at least 12 tables at 5NL and even then you're only earning a tiny amount of bonus money per hour. 10NL is a little better and 25NL makes it pretty easy to clear a bonus with 12 tables.

The volume is the biggest problem. Most people can't handle that many tables but if you play less the money you earn will be insignificant as a breakeven player.

Well with 888's non-deposit bonus I'm not sure how much rake I needed to clear the bonus but I could withdraw the winnings (money above the bonus amount). My idea was to play an $8 hyper, if I get lucky I withdraw the winnings, if not i loose the bonus. So if Im breaking even on that level I am still getting almost $8 average ROI from 1 tournament. Not much I know but still

Does anyone know how long it takes to clear Bovada's $1k bonus playing 50nl?

@noz03
i tried poker bonuses when i was break even at micros wasnt worth it.
But what helped me a great deal was the 2+2 book offer.I did 2 of those whilst clearing a small site bonus.
They don't take that much play to clear at all and the books will help you to make small profits to begin with.Read some of them 3 times and when you go back to them after getting more hands in you start understanding concepts more.
Thanks to those free books i spun $5 into $1000's

The most important thing about a bonus is the clearing rate (what that represents in rakeback) and if it doesn't deduct from normal rakeback/cashback. If you are raking at micros you probably want to check bonus clearing period. For casual rakers with few poker accounts I think it's normally +ev option to change sites for the best bonuses.
