Is clearing Kickback bonuses still worth it? Is clearing Kickback bonuses still worth it?

Hi I was playing poker 2-3 yrs ago and back then based on my play I could've cleared these 50-100$ kickbacks easily with a good hourly of maybe 5-10$. I never did that cos I wanted to learn poker properly but eventually I gave it up.

I need some money now so I'm back. But now with every site/netwrok moving away from dealth into weigthed contributed seems like the easy days of clearing bonuses are over.

I played a tight to very tight style before so not sure if I can even make money with the new dealing systems.

Hoping Bobo or other longterm posters can shade some light on this. How has kickback bonusing changed in the past few yrs?

Just to clarify I understand if you're actually good these bonuses add a lil on the top and are better then RB, but my question is about my situation. I was essentially a BE player before with a tight to very tight style. Thanks.

hi, from my experience kickbacks now are mostly something between 80% do 120% of rakeback. It is still better than normal rakeback deals but offers for 200-300% are very rare and you have to be very carefull looking for the best offer on the market.

it is true but it is only good if you are playing low stakes. I mean if you are playing like 50NL and up, you could not over come the down swing if you are running bad at first small number of hands without playing more hands than the kickback requirements, which ends up you would have a low RB. This is because most kick back is like between 80$ to 150$, one or two buyin down at 50NL + will be more than that. This means kickback is good for players to build bankroll from low stakes with high rb (safe net).

This is just my review, and good luck every one!

I can agree but not entirely. Actually you can play 8-10 kickbacks in a row from the same network - what's the difference if its the same room or different one? you're playing against the same people.

I suggest you put some work in and check out pokersavvy, pokersource, regalospoker and boogster websites and compare their promotions

Yo Gabe! Glad to see you are still around I remember talking to you many years ago, hope everything is well and you are still crushing.

Back in 2007/2008 I could clear a $50 kickback playing a few hundred hands at NL5 on the Party network, but those bonuses are long gone - and I think it was very rare to be clearing something decent at those stakes, I mean it was probably close to 50bb/100 just for the kick-back and then you got the deposit bonus too which obv doesn't release much at NL5.

Dunno if its feasible to clear a bonus at NL10 anymore, and the thing is you need to have some grasp of poker now to end up ahead... Those micro games were so soft back then, now I have a US friend who showed me a screen shot of a NL10 game against 9 players with decent TAG stats.

I would say that for NL25 players many of the kickbacks should be at least clearable, and if you can add 100% rakeback to your game then why wouldn't you? Well at least if your not from the US and hence can move money easily between sites using e-wallets.

For NL100 players and above its kind of a question of whether or not you want to go through the hassle of opening a new account, sending the documents etc just to get one buying as those kickbacks are rarely much higher than 100 bucks. The last kickback I cleared was for a piece of software that cost 120 bucks, and I just needed to rake $25 at a skin of a network that has decent traffic so IMO it was well worth it.

But yeah, take a look at the sites Gabe posted (I prefer Boogster myself as I've always received stellar customer support from there, but have used many of the sites he mentioned) and do some calculations on how much you need to rake and how they calculate the bonus requirements, i.e. if the pot needs to be of a certain size to get points (this is especially important if you play very low stakes as the pots might not often get large enough).
