I personally dont mind not having sn but it wud be nice to be able to use poker tracker to track all the action going on around you

I think they should find a way to ban poker trackers, but keep screen names. Rec players love sitting with people they can chat to. Bring back the human element of the game. Memory, reads, chatting stuff that made poker fun to begin with. This is my stance

Cake allowed frequent screenname changes, right? That seems like the proper compromise to me.

By being patient, I guess, although I don't know how much bigger a sample you need, or what difference it would make. Getting yourself to vote may help as well.

It really doesn't matter now and I was happy to let the matter drop since we had discussed it, but the fact that you are asking this question makes me quite concerned that the message didn't get through. You didn't just voice an opinion - you derailed a thread with a conversation no one wanted to have, and wouldn't let it go.

IIRC, that didn't stop tracking software, since notes carried over from one name to the next. They'd need to disable that feature as well. But of course the recreational players who aren't aware of tracking software likely wouldn't be changing their names.

You are allowed to take notes on seat 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and chat with them.

I am saying on other sites i see familiar screen names and I can chat with the people I know. Not saying u can't chat at a table. I mostly play cash so it's not like a tourney where the notes and number stay with the same guy all game long. When I come back to cash games I may be playing same guy although I would not know it.

I probably won't vote. Not sure I care that much. I just think it's bad for poker. All I was saying is bovada continuously tells me that if people wanted it changed they would listen. I doing it tho.

You need to decide which one you'd rather have - screen names that are familiar to you, or no HUDs that last beyond a single session. You can't have both.

Yeah, it did make sense - he was saying that the increase in traffic is a much larger vote. Of course that isn't the only reason people play there, but neither is their cashout speed, as you've mentioned before.

Now this makes no sense. People were outraged because they didn't like the idea, and no one had tried it before. They tried it, and changed their mind based on what they saw. Why would they change their mind if it was changed back? It's not like everyone doesn't know how a site with screen names works.

Yes huds are no good. I dont use one. The poll did not blow up. It's a poll to see how people feel. I did to know for sure how peole would feel that is an I suggested a poll. "My suggestion for the screen name issue is as follows: Sites allow players to change their screen name every 2 months. Players will still have a main account name (where you send transfers to, that they login with). At stakes 50/100nl/plo and higher (and equivalent limit games), players account names will show at the table. At stakes 25/50 and lower, only their screen name will. (I firmly believe player notes should NOT be carried over when one changes SN, as it defeats the purpose and encourages real multi-accounting)

This system is mostly the normal screen name change system, but it has a loophole so that people can still rail the high stakes games. Under this system, sites should be very vigilant in going after those who multi-account at high stakes. We also should have faith in the site’s security, as we’ll be more dependant on them to stop collusion rings and other potential cheaters.

2. Anonymous HU tables (or 6m tables)

This idea has been thrown around a bunch, and used sometimes. The benefits and risks are very similar to the above section (changing screen names). I personally believe that SN changes accomplishes the same thing, but better.

Players won’t all of a sudden start playing more games because they’re anonymous. If anything, all of the game selectors will be overly frightened that they’ll be playing an elite pro.

I’m not opposed to offering some Anonymous HU tables as an option, in case people want it, but I don’t think it solves much, and certainly not anything that SN changes wouldn’t already solve."
