Here's a radical idea OP. Let those that want to play online, play online. Let those that want to play live, play live.

It's a good idea but not one the US government seems to have taken on board.

Online, I can't see them physically. Usually, 2 or 3 players will be in the same game and will be sharing their hole cards with each other over a phone link or Ventrillo/TeamSpeak. These players have a significant edge over me and are hard to beat or are unbeatable. Online poker should be permanently banned worldwide. There is no way to regulate it unless every player provides a live video feed of himself, and that can be faked easily.

Ban online poker and support your local casino.
Instead of just saying GTFO ill try to answer your post seriously. I am both a live and online player. I was a live player first for many years even before online poker existed. I have seen how online poker has helped live poker tremendously through out the years. The number of casinos that offer poker compared to before in ten fold. In the early days many casinos considered poker to be a waste of floor space, but now almost every casino feels like they should put in a small room at least.

You might say well televised poker has done a lot for the expansion of the game too. Yes this is true, but televised poker mostly survives off online poker advertising money. Gary Wise wrote a nice article for ESPN that surmised without online advertising that a lot of poker TV shows will be forced to close up shop.

Without both online poker and poker being all over the TV you'll see a gradual decline of live poker as well. It wont happen over night, but if both these things were gone then eventually you'd see a large decrease in both the popularity of the game and the influx of new players. So you might just wander down to your local casino to play some live poker only to find that the tables have been taken out and replaced with one arm bandits.

I have no doubt that this may be true for the smaller casinos. Atl Cty and California never had this problem. It seems to me like online play may be bleeding off players from the larger casinos. I can't say for sure.

I never liked online poker since I don't trust what I don't see. But now this seems moot. If I see many more players in AC, I'll attribute that to online shutting down. If I don't see more players, then I will have to rethink.

Look at it this way: how many 10-20, 15-30 and + games have you seen online? Very few or none. That's how much people trust it.

Thanks for your post. Much appreciated.

Just out of curiosity, OP, who do you think will be doing the banning? Worldwide banning? Worldwide Internet Police presumably. You don't happen to be Jessi Slaughter's father, do you?

~40 hands an hour. Learn to study your opponents and watch them play, something I doubt you did online.

Too many players gouged their eyes out online playing 40+ tables to get to SuperNova and look where they are now.

That cuts both ways. My feeling is that you never really played poker. You just mashed hands to get points. Break even in poker or lose a little, rely on SuperNova or SuperNova Elite to fund you. That's not poker. That's a gimmick.

No live poker experience, absolutely no skill in reading people, and higher limits. You'll have to adapt quickly, or not play if you're in the USA.

Give it some time. Brick and Mortar casinos, and the players who want you there have pull too. There's no online poker in the USA. There's a big hint for you there. Other countries will follow since there's no way, absolutely no way, any but the dumbest culluders can be found out in online play. It's a cheater's heaven. You know it deep down. Admit to yourself.

We? Oh, right. You and your buddies sharing holecards.

I have a better idea. Meet me in a USA casino. All of you. Meet my friends up in the eye in the sky too, and me watching you. Good luck. You're going to need it.

I'm not saying that you cheat. I'm suggesting that many others can.

Let's put it this way: Large groups lobby for their benefit. That's why online poker is banned in the USA. Why are you surprised that I lobby for my benefit?

That's good; hopefully they'll be lobbying the government to bring online poker back, since it's good for live poker.
