Id start looking into moving if I was you.
I didn't mean that the case wasn't catalyst, but that their decision isn't about a change in law. They could easily have decided at some point that they wanted to go public, would have to pull out of WA, but decided to wait until the Rousso case was completed to make that decision.

My point was that the case changes no legality, and the only reasonable explanation for PS departure appears to be internal business. Absolutely nothing legal changed for PS on the verdict date.

And I'm doing everything I can to prepare moving if FTP leaves. I hope to god they don't, I have no conclusion one way or the other, but I have a bunch of speculations and reasons for why I think the situation is different for FTP.

Obviously, we'll see. If they do pull, I'll be busy smashing things with a bat

wufwugy, is PS was going public wouldn't they pull out of the US altogether, like every other publicly traded company?

No, because it would decimate their business.

My point has more to do with the intricacies of the sites different decisions. The law did not change, and they're all making their own decisions. I find it poor judgement to think that PS left entirely because of the court ruling and FTP will follow for the same.

How does FTP answer the licensing hearing question "why did you continue to serve WA state even after it was settled as illegal to do so? Your top competitor left. Why should we license a company with no respect for rule of law?"

Hopefully they punt on the licensing hope and stay in WA.

The same way all politics works: money. The verdict is an arbitrary point, and any hypothetical could just as easily go back to when the law was made in the first place, or ignore the law and a whole bunch of other stuff like is standard in politics.

What do you mean "decimate"? Do you mean reduce by 10%, or something else?

Check out pokerscout 24 hour graph.

The peak for all three sites is peak Euro time. The little hump to the right of this is the US traffic. Observe the shape of the graph for Party (no US players) and compare with FTP and PS. As I see it the effect of the US on PS is a lot less than the effect of the US on FTP.

Er. Last 24 hours... so it's "now" on the far right and "24 hours ago" on the far left.
