Moved to the UK, took me 5 weeks total to be up and running. To be fair, it was mostly the gas company's fault. They made mistakes which delayed in me being able to get a bank account. It took me 4-5 days from the time I contacted stars with my documents to the time I was able to be up and playing.

3 weeks to get utility bill under my name
1 week to get bank statement in the mail
Sent docs to stars, 48 hrs later they called me, 24 hrs later enabled my accont but was bronzestar....less than 24 hrs later back to supernova

Its the 8 days after the phone call with no approval that really tilts me.

at least u got a phone call. i'm still waiting for that.

it took me 6 weeks after arriving in canada to get all the documents to Stars.

I know of at least 3 specific people who didn't have to wait for Canadian government mail system to deliver mail for proof of address, they were able to just get a deposit slip/voided cheque at a bank. Stars didn't accept that for me.. so I had to request paper statements and wait forever for that to show up (all my utilities are included in rent). i dont get how some of u guys are able to move to a new country and get all your docs so fast. or why Stars requires more from me than other people that i know.

I didn't use refugees but I do have a guy down here who has helped me get everything sorted. He's had some people back on Stars in as little as 3-4 days. We are by far the worst case of waiting he has encountered since players started moving here.

How are you guys getting your money back to your US bank accounts? The only options I'm seeing in Europe are to go from USD to Euro and then back to USD. Gross! Anyone able to keep it in USD when they withdraw from Stars?

What have people's experiences been signing up for other sites besides Poker Stars that don't allow US players after relocating to Canada? Is the screening process less involved? Do you still need a lease + bank statement + utility bill?

If anyone is interested in pursuing Ecuador as an option to move in order to grind, let me know. I moved here in October and there was a lot of hoops I had to jump through to start playing again. With that being said, I now know the ropes, have a pretty extensive network of friends and connections, and absolutely love living here as an American. I wouldn't even think about moving to a place like Costa Rica after the experiences I have had here. If anyone is interested, just let me know. Thanks.

I live in Panama and play down here. I am looking to meet some other online players that have moved to the area. I am having a hell of a time getting deposits setup from down here and a few other things and would love to have a support group of local players to go to.

Anyway if your in Panama and play online would love to get to get a group going.

Hi all,

Soon i will be moving somewhere in europe to live and play online poker as the main source of income. I could not find anywhere that list specific countries as allowing people to play online poker or not.

I know that italy france and spain have issues with allowing people to play, so wont be going to these countries but i wonder if any one could help me with my other possible destinations, and whether it is legal to play online poker there or not?

Croatia
Romania,
Czech Republic,
Ukraine,
Greece,
Morocco,
Slovakia,
Hungary,
Bulgaria.

Also if anyone had any information on possible cheap places to live that are nice, friendly people and good looking women would be appreciated.

Thankyou

Estonia, Denmark and Belgium (in addition to France, Italy and Spain) also have locally regulated online poker markets. However, Estonian, Denmarkian and Belgian sites are integrated with global liquidity - that is, your opponents can be anywhere in the world (except France, Italy and Spain).

What made you decide on Panama as opposed to Costa Rica? I'm leaning towards Panama myself.

I'm assuming you are in Panama City? How do you like it so far?

I'm looking to move to Canada and spend the winter snowboarding and getting back into grinding hard. Specifically Golden, BC at the moment but I'm flexible. If anyone out there wants to share an apartment, or is in the area and wants to ride a few days a week, let me know.

journeyman: I'd pick Croatia over all the others on your list. Their location is excellent on the sea, infrastructure and banking services are great, people are nice and costs are very affordable. Czech or Hungary would also be good option. Even better, Vienna/Austria since besides tax-free online playing, there are excellent live options as well.

Sorry if these questions were already asked.. couldnt find anything.

I will be relocating to Asia to get back on pokerstars. Most likely Cambodia or Vietnam.

1. do withdraws and deposits have to be made from the country you set up residency or can you do this while traveling in different countries outside the us as well?

2. If I set up a skrill account with pokerstars can I transfer back to my US accounts or will skrill only allow me to transfer to a foreign account. Not sure how safe as an American it is keeping any substantial amount of money in banks in southeast asia.

Thanks in advance
