I think you have read something into the question that wasn't there.

My own experience is when somebody says ... hey those are my cards is that they are 99.999999% of the time wrong or joking. So I'm not going to consider going to surveillance for this.

I was just curious that RR had skipped to ruling without mentioning whether he would have taken the same steps....

Under the ruling of not unwinding the hand I 100% agree with you. And i also don't think the hand should have been unwound as I could have just as easily lost a lot of money and didn't intentionally do anything wrong. But i thought it was an interesting and unusual situation so I posted it on here.

You should probably check the tape either way to make sure nothing fishy is going.

Although highly unlikely, the guy claiming those are his cards and the loser of the hand could be working together.

And if you're going to take the pot away from this guy then you should probably make sure they were in fact not his cards.

Well hopefully he will get back with his answer.

Yeah, I think you got screwed, and, I also think that when your neighbor blurted out "those were my cards!' you also could've interjected very quickly and adamantly as to how they definitely were NOT his cards. I would have, and I also would've been very convincing about it because in my mind, I would've thought that I was telling the truth, and if something transpires after that, well, that's just another bridge..

Yes, but I wouldn't have told the players about it. If I was convinced it might have happened I would have looked into it for training purposes.
