On the recent episodes of PAD, I think he knew that Obrestad was stealing a lot but he just couldn't pull the trigger to re-raise.

I don't know about every time he does that, but the last time he was thinking how to felt the other players while not hurting Melanie Weisner's feelings too much so she'll have dinner with him.

what tom is doing here has been studied by Bandler & Grinder. the study is called neurolingustic programming.
all people look to a certain degree in different directions when they (try to) recall memories (images, sounds, tastes, feelings) or when they are conducting monologues on the inside. these movements are forced by a area above the brainstem -on its back side - the lamina quadrigemina (14 in the picture) where a connection is found with the nervus oculomotorius/trochlearis (they guide eye muscles) and the nervus facialis (for the facial muscles).
in tom these connections seem to be stronger than in other people (which would explain good visual -poker- memory) and/or it has just become some extreme quirk.

You should not have posted this info.
It's too valuable to be posted on a popular poker forum.

information is free... studying costs (a lot)
looking over it it is actually number 13 not 14 (14 is what guides the awake-sleeping-rythm in our lifes)
