The only reason sleeper bets aren't allowed is because idiotic nits get annoyed and bitch and whine to ban them. It should always be allowed for someone to put in blind money pre-flop before the cards are dealt regardless of their position with the clear understanding that it's binding and the money cannot be removed once the first card is dealt. Someone wants to put money in -EV which benefits everyone else at the table? Yes please, I'll take some of that.

Once again ........ There is no rule that he can't make it $25 in the dark. He just has to do it in turn.

I know nothing of this crazy mike you speak of making dark bets.

About 3 years ago, in the minutes before our big tournament started, I saw a guy who was the spitting image of Jeff Bridges' character in the movie. I wondered if I was imagining how much he looked like him. It seemed obvious to me the hair, bread, clothes it was near perfect IMO. Just before the cards were in the air, I saw the guy sitting at the next table. I turned to the player in seat 1 and asked him if he had ever seen "The Big Lebowski". He said he loved the movie.

Me: "Look straight ahead, next table, seat 4."

He looks up and his eyes widen slightly then without moving his head he says:

"Man, The Dude abides..."

All that everyone is saying is that you have to wait your turn BEFORE making the dark bet. It is perfectly acceptable and within the rules to dark bet $25, but the small blind must wait before the button acts to do so..

betting in the dark is not the same is betting in the dark before the action is on you

seriously. all the guy has to do is not look at his cards. wait for the action to be on him, then put out 25 dollars. problem solved for the nits and the action junkies.

ps - you can't check dark if you're not first to act on the next street.
