I went to Lucky Chances yesterday hoping to find a NLHE game with a $2 bb but the lowest they had was a 3/5 game.

Does this vary depending on the day or is 3/5 now the lowest they spread? How about AJs?

I really need the smallest game possible until I've learned to count the pot and follow the action without having to think about it...

Did you go to the right side? they have one aide were you sogn up for 1-1-2 and the lower limit games, on the side where the restaurant is and then on the other side is where they have the sign in for the bigger games.
The 1-1-2 game is 4 to come in so its not your typical 1-2 came.

I was at Lucky chances a week ago and there were at least three tables of 1-1-2 going (it was uncharacteristically quiet). I have never been there when they weren't spreading a $2bb nl game.

I asked the floor over where all the hold'em games were going what was the lowest game they had-- opposite from the pai gow games are going on. He didn't mention the 1/1/2 game, just the 3/5 game

I'll have to check check by the restaurant next time. Thanks guys. $4 bring in is still better than $5 blinds if I'm playing with a small bank roll and am bewildered by the mechanics of live poker.

If the floor on one side didn't tell you about potential smaller games on the other side, that's pretty ****ing annoying. You'd think that with most cardrooms hurting for players they'd try to step up their customer service a little.

I think the palace game is $1/2, but i'm not sure. Everytime I see it running it just a few huge stacks eating all the small ones.

Try 3-100 spread limit at Garden City. The drop is onerous, but you only pay that when you win a pot. Blinds are 1 and 3, maybe 1 on the button.

The Palace game is not for someone looking to play low stakes.

Why not? The blinds are low, right? Can't I just buy in for 60bb and nut hug if everyone is aggro PF?

I think it's a $5 BB with a $10 straddle, making it $20 to open. Could be wrong, tho'.

With a button straddle available half the hands can be $10 to open, and sometimes $20 to open. The game plays a little bigger than 2-5. Its a time charge, so your stack will get eaten by rake even if you play tight.

The No Limit Holdem game at the Palace has blinds of $1/$2/$2 with a bring in of $5. There are two optional kills of $5 and $10 which make the bring in $10 and $20 respectively. Don’t let the small size of the blinds fool you – The action in our No Limit often gets very big.

Pretty sure there's a phone number in that link I just provided.

C'mon, folks, try to do a little for yourselves here...

The 1/1/2 is a spread limit game with a $200 max bet and $200 max buy-in. Because the bring-in is $4 you're playing with, at most, an effective 50bb stack. And most people buy-in light ($40 is the min buy-in and common).

So he's technically right when he said that 3/5 is lowest NL game. The 1/1/2 is its own creation and not really indicative of B&M NLH.

Wow that's really ghey of the floormen there, who from my experience are pretty good. I can't believe they didn't mention the 1-1-2 that pretty much covers half the tables there. I'm guessing there was some miscommunication there and am surprised you didn't see the other bigger board with more names on it.

Goldtoe might have it right because NL is minimum 3-5 and 1-1-2 is technically spread limit. But seriously, the floormen should have known if they knew what you were looking for.

Been a while since I've been to LC, but remember seeing a 5-10 game running on my last trip (a Saturday night). First time I'd seen that game spread there.

Anyone know if that game runs regularly now or any other info? Not 100% sure, but I'm assuming it was a true NL game since they also had the 2-3-5 spread-limit game going that night too.

They regularly spread:
Limit: 3-6, 6-12, and usually now a 9-18 runs.
SL (4-200 bet increments, 200 max BI) 1-1-2 blinds
NL 3-5 (500 max), 5-10 (1000 max), 10-10-20 (no cap, 1000 min, only Mon, Wed, Fri)
O8 1/2kill 4-8
Stud 2-4

I believe that's what is usually going on.

Goldtoe who was the floor that told you that? Most have been pretty helpful as far as I know...well most. There are one or two I am not fond of.

Thanks for the update. Any idea if the 3-5 & 5-10 NL games have the same double BB bring-in as in the 1-1-2?

When I played 3/5 I believe I saw a player buy in for 1500.

Anyone have information on the $40K at Lucky Chances. I will be in the area that weekend and might play.

6$ I think... the palace game is great for short stacking, killer action, it plays like a large 5/10 or small 10/20 game.

The 3-5 and 5-10 NL games play as listed, there is no extra blind OTB or double bring-in.

I could easily be mistaken but that is what I thought happened.
