God, this has to be the worst poker show in the history of ever....yet it such a train wreck I'm still watching. I wonder how much they paid Greg Raymer and Annie Duke for this.

Sorry. Not sure if it is streamed anywhere, but here is the link.

http://wwcs.tv/

It's the playin show for the $3mil Winstar tournament. Shown on TV in Dallas. They hired Annie Duke and Raymer for commentary. They basicly showed the final table, except the blinds were so high your only reasonable move was to go all in before the flop, except no one was and I think it was tilting Raymer.

Only name guy was Bruce Van Horn who finished 2nd in the Main Event back in 1996.

I recall reading this on the Poker On TV blog, they do final tables for the various satellites for the $3m tournament that's taking place in August I believe...

There will be more. In this first episode they only knocked out 3 players. It was 1/4 poker, 3/4 yammering.

It airs on late night TV on ABC affiliates.

Tivo lists it as World Championship Poker if you want to search for it in your area.

There are going to be 16 episodes I think.

There are 5 Mega Sats they are holding leading up to the final in August.

The final Tournament wil seat 1500 players and has a $3,000,000. guaranteed with first place walking with $690,000.

Mini Sats are $55 ($60 with the dealer toke which gives you 50% more chips)so you could turn $55 into $690,000.

Mini Sats award a chip for entry into a Mega Sat.

Mega Sats are a direct buy in of $440, 20% of the field gets chips into the final with direct buy ins to the final at $2100.

The seat chips are transferable.

I thought it was only going to be just on stations in OK/TX?

When they announced it they said "Representatives are shopping it in other large metro markets as well." I'll try to get the station list.

Its coming up on DirecTV on channels 644 (Altitude)and 657 (Sportstime). I had never heard of either of these channels before looking up this show. I quickly checked to see if I get them and I do get both channels, and they are currently airing some poker show I never heard of called "Heartland Poker Tour" on 644.

I saw it on last night on a channel called "CSS". I watched about 30 seconds. It was the worst. I turned it off and went to bed.

This link explains more about the show:
http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news...n-poker-series

I watched it, it was pretty bad. I thought Greg did a pretty good job of explaining what he would do in the hands shown, but for a semi serious player the level of explanation was too low. I didn't keep track of the hand count but it was very low, I think around 8. The host is Norm Hitzges who is a bit of an icon in DFW sports radio but in my opinion has become a caricature of himself. He may be the reason Greg had to talk down to the TV audience, to make Norm understand what was goin on. The interview with Annie was painful, the main topic was how she uses her womanly wiles to manipulate the stupid macho men at the table.

An old time Sports Talk guy in Dallas was talking today how he is doing some kind of tv show from the Winstar with Annie Duke. I think he is going to have her on the radio tomorrow to talk about it.

Anyways, it sounds like it might only be broadcast in Dallas or this area. Does anyone know when/where/what it is?

It shows in Dallas on WFAA (ABC affilliate) 12:35 AM Sunday morning. The old time sports guy was no doubt Norm Hiztges. It is a local production of a tournment that will be held at the Winstar Casino in OK, right now they are showing the final tables of some of the entry satillates building up to the actual tournement. I think it is smart to try to build interest this way, a lot of people seem to be drawn by the possibility of being on TV. The problem is the show is very bad.

Odd show: they spend a lot of time interviewing Annie Duke and Greg Raymer. But at least they're interesting to listen to. And Raymer remains one of my four favorite poker analysts.

And Bruce wins.

Norm just asked him what was better, winning this satellite or finishing 2nd at the main event.

I played and later watched the tournament on TV. I thought it was an entertaining and insightful poker show. Big fan of Raymer.
