So, I'm browsing thru Verizon FIOS 'Video on Demand' for a poker show, and I see "Poker & Politics".
The blurb is "Tom Wilson brings his passion for politics and comedy to the poker table. Get inside the minds of some of today's most relevent politicians, celebrities & commentators. as each week Tom invites special guests to his basement to play cards and talk shop". So I think, OK I'll give it a go.
The setup is supposed to be a mix of comedy and political discussion. There is a "fake wife" (thats what they actually call her) who brings in snacks on a satellite dish, and other lame comedy bits.
The politics is strictly republican/teaparty. I was hoping to see some kind of "Politically Incorrect" type show with crazies from both sides, but this was totally one-sided. Obama bashing was constant.
The poker content was minimal. They played about 6 hands, and they didn't say much more than comparing hands at showdown. "I have a pair of 9s", "I beat you, I have a pair of tens."
I have no idea where, if anywhere, this was shown on scheduled TV (quick google search comes-up with nothing). There are 3 episodes available on VOD. I watched one whole episode with the same horrified incredulity as I would a train wreck. It was that bad, but I'm not such a masochist that I would watch the other two episodes.
