Daniel are you implying that 2+2 isn't ultimately the most important factor in determining how poker TV shows should be run?

Because unlike you, a lot of those guys are on t.v. all the time. It would be the same as you tipping a $1,000 everytime you ate a meal or had a cab ride or something. I don't get what you mean by it's on t.v. You only tip big on t.v. because then you get to look like a balla on t.v.? lol

he has had some bad luck at high stakes poker, and that has contributed to it. I imagine his bankroll is hurting pretty bad with the pots he's been in. (but then again, he is a poker legend with a bunch of tourney cashes so I could be wrong).

however, I might be the only person who believes most of the players on high stakes are being staked...

Abe has come a long way since that episode of the WPT (first season i think?) when he made the final table and Daniel was staking him or something. Now the dude plays the highest limits all the time and puts money in the pot like he is J Paul Getty. WTF.

Do you also give a 100 dollars when you've had a hamburger? .
If I spend $500+ on a dinner I will tip the waiter/waitress $100.

If I will a $50k pot in a poker game I will tip $100 for sure.

You hate him because he isn't an internet player. If Dwan made the same play with J4 you would all be kissing his feet and sending him roses.

The fact is that most of you would rather have a table of William Davis' over a table of Negreanu's. You would love it if every player was an online multi-tablers who talked about Starcraft the entire show and played "perfect poker". But the reality is that the rest of the world likes variety and interesting personalities so a table mix of poker legend (Doyle), big talker (DN), Rich guy wanna be poker player (jason), porn star (Williams), Loose canon (anything from 1st week donk, to 2nd week multi-tabler) is interesting to watch for the rest of the world.

dwan will play the hand infinitely better post than daniel will. dwan gets respeck b/c he can take such a horrible hand and weave it to gold on later streets. daniel can't so its a bad play for him but good for td.

While it's obvious that DN is a poor no limit holdem player it does not mean that every single hand he plays is played badly...that J4hh hand was super standard on Daniel's part, now, the call with KK is not that good considering game flow, stack sizes and how DN had been playing up to that point.

That's clearly to prevent the LC from repeatedly going all in preflop with any two random cards right from the beginning until he either doubles up or busts, which is a likely scenerio if it wasn't. That would fail as a show, because either the LC sticks around for about three minutes, or he doubles up and then plays tighter than Doyle or Hellmuth for the next 149 hands. Considering the LC is against some of the top players in game, for most players this is the most likely way to win a good amount of money.

Guy just needs to get a touch with reality, you got tons of people working normal jobs for $1500-$3000 or whatever and being a dealer is one of those jobs. You are not responsible for these peoples success in life just because you have some money. Do some charity work instead and help out where it is really needed instead of being the rich douche looking like he's trying to show off.
+ a mirrion

Why do you think I'm a "ship it" supporter? If "ty" is a 9 on a douche scale, with slowroll being a 10, then "ship it" has to be an 8 or 8.5.

ship it is worse than thank you, no question. especially b/c no one has ever just simply said "ship it" they have to add their douche touch to it

I actually liked Wiggins more in terms of what is good for poker economy and TV. Saying "well i played 1mirrion hands this year, playing 20 tables" is so lol.
I also don`t like the vpip/pfr/3B% etc thing because its bad for poker economy

Yes I`m a selfish *****, and i care about my bottom line in the end of the day, but hey - who of you really don`t? (unless you make more in poker commercials than actually playing poker for money, if you know what i mean)

I've had some pipsqueak just say "ship it" in a live small stakes tourney.

Some of you seem to have preferred watching Ernest, while many of you seem to have preferred watching Will.

Would you prefer to watch the same type of player all the time, or is variety better?

Variety is definitely nice, but we want to see "good" poker. I don't see anything compelling about watching a weaktight fish play -- especially when he is the focus of the game ("loose cannon" as opposed to rich fish in the background invited to let pros win something)

Variety is nice, but it has to come with some minimum requirements. Just like watching a mute guy is not very entertaining, it is likewise not entertaining to watch a guy whose poker skills are at a beginner level at best.
