It really is mind blowing how a free stream was so much better last year. Have to pay this year and everything goes down. The commentating, the amount of streams, the events, on and on. Not really a big deal as its 10 bucks and will get the ME but just lol. Cant imagine anyone is going to continue paying after the ME.

It's mind blowing how much we used to get for nothing and how people now feel entitled.

Streaming the main event live rather than streaming a bunch of preliminary events that nobody gives a **** about? ABSOLUTELY! This is going to be 1000x times better. Can't wait!

I can't help thinking you're going to be disappointed.
Watching a single table of the deepest structure tournament around isn't going to be that exciting.

This is a straw man argument and tremendously idiotic. Why is it so hard for you to understand that poker players are interested in watching all the final tables? How do you view it as some sort of attitude of entitlement that we would like to watch these final tables? It was the WSOP and Pokergo who set up the $10 fee - not poker players. The fact that we are left with an extremely substandard service that shows only a fractions of the final tables and blacks out the rest of them due to their exclusive license to show the games is (and should be) insulting to poker players. I'd rather pay $10 per final table and actually be able to watch all the tournaments (especially the non-holdem tourneys that are almost entirely missing this year) than have jackasses keep saying that I should be happy that I'm offered the opportunity to watch a fraction of them.

If they want to engender some goodwill why not sent out an intern with a webcam to stream the non-covered final tables without commentary? Pretending that poker fans don't have a valid reason to be upset when a huge portion of the final tables, including the vast majority of high buy in mixed games, are blacked out, is ridiculous, no matter how many times you repeat it.

At least it won't be a push fest like the majority of these final tables are.

I fully understand that poker players want to watch all of the final tables. Probably because I'm a poker player too and I would much prefer to see them all too.

I fail to see how the WSOP have any say in how much PokerGo charge. Much as The Premier League have no say in how much Sky charge for their subscription.
They bought the rights. They charge what they feel the can get away with.
The fact is the previous coverage was paid for by the players rake. Most of the viewers had contributed nothing to that rake. The only valid complaint is that the rake wasn't reduced to reflect the removal of that particular overhead to the WSOP.

Just because you don't agree with an argument, it doesnt make it a straw man.

I subscribed two weeks ago, and I've had zero issues with the quality or commentary, and frankly I'd say it has been well worth the price EXCEPT, very few of the final tables I've actually wanted to watch have been on the schedule aside from the One Drop.

That's really my only knock. Otherwise kudos to PokerGO.

Your lack of reasoned response says it all.

I loved it in 2011. I believe they had a primary table and a secondary table if memory serves me correct.

The WSOP is responsible for selling the broadcast rights to a company that isn't broadcasting the vast majority of tournaments. PokerGo is responsible for their ****ty broadcast schedule. If Woody Johnson sold the rights to broadcast Jet games to some *******s who only showed 2 Jets games a year and blacked out the other 14, I'd be bitching about both Woody Johnson and the *******s who are doing a piss-poor job of broadcasting. If some other ******* said, "well they are only charging you $10 to see those 2 games, check your sense of entitlement!", then I would criticize that ******* as well. In this day and age where digital streaming costs virtually nothing, there is simply no excuse to black out the vast majority of an event that people want to see (and are willing to pay for). These streams have been a massive fail because of their lack of content - hopefully something the WSOP and PokerGo (if they are still in charge next year) will address so that next year people who like poker can actually watch the WSOP.

It's Kane Kalas. He inherited the great pipes from his dad, who's a member of the baseball hall of fame from serving as the voice of the Philadelphia Phillies for nearly 40 years.

Edit: sorry, I'm apparently late to the party, and clearly poor at thoroughly reading threads.

Don't forget he did a few years of Puppy Bowl too. And NFL films and dozens of commercials. Harry was great and Kane definitely got the voice.
