Playing against you nemesis! Playing against you nemesis!

Hello all-

We all have the "one" that one person who may be a good player, average or just horrible that "owns" you. We all have one.

Mine just started to come back to my room.

My questions is this:

What do you do to keep from

1) getting anixious
2) playing off your game if he/she is in a hand with you.

My nemisis is very average, I punish him or try to when he limps in only when I have a good hand. I try to play ABC against him since plays will not work. This is not a whine, although it sounds like it.

I am getting to the point that I don't like to speak to him although he is a very nice man, former college football ref and we talk about some of the same things.

This is just not a montly rend, he just ownes me and I have to deal with it, but I am finding it hard to do.

What do you do with your masters!

1. Figure out the weaknesses in their game.
2. Develop strategy to exploit them.
3. Implement.
4. Profit.

my nemesis is Barry, he has no problem throwing money around with absolutely nothing and in his defense is sometimes hard to read, he doesn`t scare me off the game but when we`re in a hand if i`ve got a monster pre or post flop I push hard.

oddly enough Barry has called me his nemesis a time or two

I avoid playing marginal hands against players who are better than I am.

You have to emotionally divorce yourself from the fact that he has a track record of kicking your butt. Most players are unable to do so.

After you've done that then you need to implement Venice's post

Unfotunately, if a player is better than you, then I do not think you will be able to develop some super strategy to beat them. IMO, if someone is better than you, then your best line is going to be the nitty side of ABC TAG.

You basically just accept that playing against said person is -EV and you only engage with the very top of your range. Don't try to be tricky or sneaky, just be rock solid

Then, on your offtime work on getting better as well as analyze why he is kicking your butt.

Once you've improved your game and analyzed why you were doing so poorly against him, you can then reengage him and take another crack at playing your A-game.

If he continues to thrash you, rinse and repeat above steps.

If he still keeps thrashing you, then table change whenever he comes to your table
