Quit while you still have money and go back to Kansas.

You're holding onto a pipe dream that isn't going to come true.

Edit: I have now read all of OP's posts and feel a little bit bad for saying what i initially sad. But not bad enough t remoove it.

however, i have come o the conclusion that either this is one massive level, of this nees to be posted in BBV as a...dare i say it....next BlotKis type persona.

This is quite epiclicious...
Just picked up on this thread.

He's even worse that you allege. I've played with OP twice during this summer's festivities, in a couple of dreamy PLO8 sessions. (I can't pass up a PLO8 game at any stakes.) He's a shortstacker and a ratholer with no redeeming social qualities. In fact, the reason why I know this is the same guy is that I've heard the same f--ing story about paying two something a week to stay in some off-campus flop house, ride the bus downtown, and sucking for not being able to get away from VP -- more times than one person should without receiving a fee. Excruciating.

He is a nit with little imagination for the game, and very easy to exploit. I can't give any tips because OP's capacity to use said tips don't match his thirst for them.

I suspect that he's one of the people I hear talked about sometimes with an IQ of 95 that used to beat VP because he learned a (now outdated) system that someone else worked out.

OP needs to go back to his day job, play 1-2NL recreationally, and use his roll to retain a speech therapist.

I may have more to add after I read the rest of the thread.

It's a level, I think, and it's left me profoundly sad and disgusted -- and happy that I have a day job. Important lesson here: don't give up your day job. I resolve to never give up my day job even if I'm making six figs playing cards. I'm afraid of becoming OP. (That said, it is precisely because I am afraid of becoming OP that I never will.)

Important political statement: though I support SSI for the infirm (those in need generally), there has to be a way that people like OP get thinned out of the system and have to work for a living. Even though it's usually soft money, I have a problem with our tax dollars directly subsidising the low end of the poker gene pool.

OP will be thinning out of the poker world by the end of WSOP, I think.

I just got into Vegas tonight ostensibly to play poker until 7/1 and this cautionary tale has left me feeling so disgusted and dirty that I don't even want to be here. I miss my wife and kids already and I only said goodbye 5 hours ago. I'm probably going to spend the rest of the night writing a thoroughly repulsive character study to fit somewhere into something I'm working on.

This is nothing new. From the picture I recognize him from a few years ago.

wat

If the dude can work, he should be working and not losing all US citizens' money at 1/2 NL tables $40 at a time.

And what's with flipping out over Q-high flush losing to K-high flush? As they say in BBV, "standard imo." Unless OP has problems expressing himself through writing, it's not like the girl went runner-runner for it.

OP, again, I'll counsel you to stick to video poker so we don't have to hear how bad of a poker player you are. At least if you play video poker, people can expect you to lose.

Lol @ this personal diary but seriously OP get some help.

Tony, you need to respond to the advice people are giving you. Do you comprehend that you play bad and are clueless? You need to stop.

Stop trying to stop him. Only death and taxes can stop him.

Well, from what I read, taxes seem to be helping him along, actually.

I see what you did here.

Exactly. The taxes (our taxes) are actually hurting him because they're funding this nonsense.

I'm with Truthiness. OP shouldn't be on SSI. If he can find his way to and from the poker room, and find his way around a computer decent enough to post on multiple sites, he can't definitely hold down a job.

Maybe not some six figure job, but certainly something good enough to make a living in Kansas.

And I agree with Jbizz too. The thread was funny for a while. After that other post, it got pretty sad pretty fast. And frustrating to a degree, seeing as Mr. Bigcharles refuses to listen to anything anyone is saying.

FYP. As stated previously, I agree. But that really shouldn't be central to the thread. Instead, have fun with the stories of degenerate behavior and apparent lack of bankroll management and poker skills.

But this is where you're wrong. It's funny because "Mr. Bigcharles refuses to listen to listen to anything anyone is saying." OP didn't post here to have a bunch of random people on the internet be his psychologist collectively; he posted to find other 2+2ers in the area, find the best low buy-in games, and maybe get help with his tells. Just sit back and enjoy the ride or stop reading if it makes you sad.

Why do you all assume this guy has a problem? Some people are happier with a melodramatic life. He might be happier than you. He might be happier living like this than he could living some other way.
06-18-2008 , 06:44 PM
I want him to respond to some of our suggestions.
06-18-2008 , 07:37 PM
i sure wouldnt be happy doing anything but poker and thats all i know how to do. things would be ok had i not blown over 3k at video poker, id still had PLENTY of a roll left. am still in the $1900s, (recovered $91 on the strip last nite) and just now waking up, and i have not played 1 hand on a machine in over 36 hours. this is my case $2000 getting it outta me will be like pulling teeth. although i cannot afford to play at rio, i will last til the end of the wsop and beyond without going bust.

and its a shame i dont have enough to play at rio, cause its only $100 min buyin in the $2-5 game too and i won so easy in louisiana where the buyin was that low.

Do you understand that your probably a loosing player and probably need to actually work on your game?

Bankroll and living arrangments aside, your probably terrible at the game on top of all your other problems.

Given the fact that you shortstack, and play a one dimensional game, im not suprised your "roll" is dwindling so fast.

How about investing time learning the game, reading the wealth of knowledge on the forums, playing some low stakes online, and discussing hands with people that are actually good at the game.

Serisouly, you dont need help just from a social perspective, you need help in the poker area as well. Like everyone keeps pointing out, on you current path, you will be busto shortly, back to square 1.

If you cant stop yourself gambling on video machines, then your not a poker player, because if you were a poker player (and i mean a winning one) the concept of EV, and gambling would make sense to you as the reasons NOT to play anything but poker.

And lol at everyone still giving advice after what seems like 1 million posts trying to give advice to an autistic man.

I'm rooting for OP to become Rain Man and just murder everything and show the haters they were all wrong.

won $125 in the $3-6 hilo omaha at binions, rolls at $2116 now, and i still aint touched a machine or anything besides poker for 2 days now. theyre not getting my final $2000. had to go out to the strip last nite and play at osheas to start reversing the misfortune when i was all the way down to $1900 even. whats really making me mad today is the fact i cant afford to have someone look at my laptop and i couldnt seem to get the cheetah network to come online for nothing, so i gave up angrily and came back to my room and got on dialup.

hahahahaha awesome... I would bet you 200 bucks on FTP or Pokerstars that you can not go a month without going broke from this point on. But you would obviously not be able to pay me.
