not bad. its probably about 60+ for gas/tolls driving. What's up with the slot dollars?

you get $25 when you get off the bus to play at whatever casino they drop you at

Its a good deal, $37 and the return trip is open ended. You can catch a bus back to the city pretty much 24 hours a day, they have at least 1 bus leaving from a casino on the board walk. This makes it super easy to go down to AC for at least 1 or 2 nights, and stay for 5 or 6 if I change my mind, and never have to worry about saving that last buck for your bus ticket home!

Only bad thing is none of the buses take you directly to borgata.

They do stop in brooklyn sometimes though, i think flatbush.

FYI

In order to cash out the slot dollars you have to run that amount through the machine. So, if you get 25 slot dollars and decide to bet 25¢ per spin, you need to do 100 spins before you can cash out. Therefore, on average it's like a free $20-$22.

Port authority is 1 avenue west of times square.

Easy and interesting walk from Penn Station, just walk up town and turn left on 42nd.

If the slot vouchers from the NYC buses are similar to the ones from the Philadelphia buses, they are also good for video poker, which has a lower house hold. It's pretty easy to find VP machines that pay out 99.5%, like 9/6 Jacks or Better, in which case your $25 is worth about $24.88.

Big +:
Slot dollars = free money if you just throw the ticket in and cash out as soon as you can. I did this at Harrah's last time I was there. Got a $25 voucher in the mail, threw it in a video poker machine for like 5 minutes then cashed out.

No parking, gas, or tolls to pay for.

No worrying about staying awake driving home at 3 am on a Saturday night.

Cocktails if you please

Anyone have any tips for getting comped rooms?? A reg at Borgata recently was telling me about getting free rooms all the time, and he was just playing 1-2. Don't know if he was playing other table games in the casino too tho...

I got an email today about a bus from Long Island/Manhattan for $45 round trip ($60 overnight). The bus in the picture looks brand new and offers many amenities, but as someone who has taken a (very crappy, terrible) bus to AC before I'd like a first hand review.

Has anyone taken this bus yet? Is it really a new bus with huge seats, wi-fi and multiple flat screen tv's as advertised? Do they offer any food/slot vouchers with the bus ticket like other AC casinos? (no mention in ad)

Here is a screenshot of the ad they sent me

I've used this bus. Most of the time, the Luxury Liner shows up. Some of the time, a ****tier bus shows up. Luxury Liner bus is awesome, ****tier bus isn't. They stopped offering food vouchers but they do give slot vouchers. I forgot how much.

quite simple ... go to chinatown purchase ticket that stops at caesars comes to $27 then redeem your slot and table game cuopon and sell it to the chineese crackheads outside with pre rolled $22 in their hands and you go baisically for free

hampton is awesome, and they now go directly to Borgata!

Only problems are much more limited schedule than greyhound, it's $60, and it doesn't say anything about slot dollars.

great that this bus goes direct to borgata now but the aces train at 29 bucks each way from penn station wasnt bad either- but its seasonal.
Not sure it will run again this year tho.

price sucks, dont appear to be rebates
the schedule is awful
only 2 options to leave are 745 and 930 pm
probably doesnt matter if you're going to play pit games, but thats absolutely worthless for poker

Aces was cancelled earlier this week. For good.

I agree with you guys, Hampton is really nice, but I'll just be sucking it up and taking greyhound or academy.

In a perfect world, I would take hampton to borgata, and get the same deal as the other buses.

I did once buy a groupon for hampton, $5 round trip to resorts, with $5 slot and $5 food (didnt use food) - last summer.

Aces was cancelled?? That really sucks but I didn't like their schedule anyway.

I take the luckystreaks bus almost every weekend and it sucks a little when it's really crowded and the person next to you decides to eat their cheap chicken wing next to you. I also would say Bose headphones are a must as some people are.just very loud, even on the nightbus back.

Other than that, its a convient ride if you play at the boardwalk casinos. Sucks a little if you play at harrahs or borgata.

The time on the bus is well spent listening to podcasts or just snoozing off and its probably the best value. The fact that you can just go on any bus is great.

Why not take the train/ sub-way to AC. I have never done it but i heard it is easy, true?

No, it's not true. In fact if you read the posts directly above yours you'll see the train no longer runs.

If you have a total rewards card, its 19$ + $2 tip on the return trip. You get a $20 direct bet (not match play) and $20 slots. Ive taken the ctown bus multiple times and never had a problem, they usually even keep to speed limits. I like them also b/c they have a pretty flexible schedule (probably 8 buses daily from chinatown, also departs from brooklyn and flushing) I think the return rides are good for 3 days.

the worse part is its a pretty cramped ride.. wont matter if you are a cheap bastard and are small. but if you are tall, its gonna suck (worse than economy class seats on planes)

This is why I asked about the new Borgata bus advertisement. I am tall and have taken the bus to AC from Long Island (Westbury) and it was worse then an airplane. There was no legroom, the seats were tiny, and the AC was broken in the middle of summer (I was the only one under 80 - was seriously waiting for people to die). As far as I know there aren't many other AC bus lines that leave from Nassau County, Long Island that are decent, but if there are do tell.
