God, that was painful to watch.

Howard just has no clue about heads-up hand ranges. Or heads-up in general, apparently.

Too bad Dario started spewtarding. He had to recognize that if Howard stuck around on the flop, he wasn't likely to go anywhere afterwards.

Oh, well. Yay for Howard.

At first howard was getting killed and just haven't got no clue about what he was doing. checkfolding every flop etc. looked like dario was going to run howard over and get an easy win..but..then he started ****ing spew every hand:F..and lost the match..well, hoped dario would have won bc I can't stand ****ing howardIminevery****ingpadepisode lederer.

It's not like those two are unrelated. Howard was folding because Dario was spewing. Never folding pre-flop, and always c-betting, will win you most of the pots against tight players. The trick is to have all those pots be worth more than the pot you lose when you just can't find that brake pedal.

I agree. I'm glad I was one of the 9 who picked him to win, so I could brag in the thread. He did make some bad plays against Dario, though, the worst one being calling the 3-bet OOP with A5 when HU. It seems like he's not used to playing back at aggressive players, so occasionally he got aggressive with the wrong type of hand.

yes, true. but I was just thinking he could have called he's c-bets with like ace high etcetc. on dry boards instead of just folding. okay, it's tough to call him down with just ace high/bottom pair when dario is prob. going to 2nd barrel and sometimes three barreling, but it would have made the game much more enjoyable instead of "ok didn't hit, fold" poker. And instead of folding all the time I would also have gave more respect to howard also..after all, tv poker is supposed to be entertainment, and I think dario also spew'd much much more than normal because of tv.

The way I saw it is that Howard obviously had a rough time earlier in the 'week' with the aggro Dario on his immediate left. I wouldn't have wanted his seat. But as the table dwindled he had position on Dario a more and more often until it was finally heads up. FWIW, I was one of the ones who picked Chris to win it. Looking forward to the directors cut.

Concerning Chris Ferguson's profit, I thought (Gavin Smith once said this) that they all get 5k back from NBC just for playing. Confirm?

Howard played a lot better than usual and made some creative plays but you gotta admit Dario had a lock on it until he started spewing like a broken ATM.

Calling with ace high out of position on the flop is normally terrible against a someone who'll bet at least once more.

Seems pretty obvious yes. I'd expect them to get more, after all if you ask a poker player anything he'll most likely lie or tell a half-truth.

And what else is NBC going to do, call pro's and tell them "hey we want you to come to our TV show to play against the toughest opponents, we'll show your holecards so you'll look foolish when they bluff you and internet forums rip you a new one for poor play, oh and bring $20K of your own money to lose as well because we're not paying you."

They must get something out of it, most of them are able to win $120K in one PLO hand on the FT nosebleed tables, they're not doing it because they really could use the $100K profit.

I think TV time is huge for many players. Other players appear because Full Tilt insists that they do.

It works for ESPN.

Not off the table. I think long term poker player are very honest. When you agree to play a game its diffrent and why are players asking in a poker game. I never got that, what they expect the player to help them beat himself
