Moving to Las Vegas Moving to Las Vegas

So I'm moving to Las Vegas next month. I'm a single guy, no friends lol, and not a whole lot of family. I already have a job lined up when I get there as well as a place to stay.

I'm going to be moving there with 5k and I'll use 2k of it for my BR starting out. I want to just grind tournaments, so with all that to say.

I would like some advice from people currently living in Vegas or have visited. What are some of the softer tournaments on the strip? I'm trying to stick between $50- $120 buy in.

Thanks.

I can't think of a worse idea in the gambling world than moving to Las Vegas with a $2k bankroll to play daily MTTs.

What about moving to AC with a $2k bankroll to play daily MTTs?

Good luck OP. You may want to look into playing low stakes cash...more value.

If you want to have fun then I would do it. If I was trying to make money I'd play cash

I remember a few years ago moving away from Switzerland to Vegas with a very small bankroll.

Playing NL200, living at the creepy Super 8 Motel on Koval Ln surrounded by crackwhores and weird people. The walk from the Super 8 to the Strip is a pain on 40C temperatures, no taxi for tiny grinders.

This was a good poker/life experience, Vegas is a frustrating place when you are short on money.

Ps: i would suggest you play cash, low buy-in mtt's have awrfull structures and the field is tougher or take it more seriously compared to NL200 cash games.

You missed the part where he has a job lined up. $2k is plenty for a recreational player to dip his toes in the water.
