"Look at me, I am the chip leader on the table, you lot are of course not as good as me" ***** We were playing 1/1 cash game.

Only thing absurd about that is how easily it is to tilt players in a 1/1 cash game with a simple silly comment.

So much so that one of them is posting about it on 2+2.

I don't get it, how is he tilted by the "chipleader's" comment?

That the absurd . I.e. that the "chipleader's" comment tilted him. Or maybe its that this had to be explained. Or maybe that I took time to write this.

Probably all of them. But to be drunkenly fair... is that a word? I don't see how it tilted him, he just explained an absurd reasoning behind a comment. Meh.

Regardless, this thread has taken a nosedive. It jumped the shark eons ago, which is really like a year ago. I would know, henry winkler has a statue in my city. Which sucks...

EDIT: Ohhhhhh, now I get what everyone is getting at. "Chipleader" in a cash game. I must have misread the op on this one, oops. Green beer me.

A lot of pretty bad things get tossed around at a poker table, and most of them go in one ear and out the other.

So if something does register, it must have really meant something to the listener.

This was kind of cute... Guy mentions a few times in the last or it that he's going to leave right before his big blind, then when he's UTG he announces, "okay, this is my last hand, I straddle"

This isn't so absurd but it's getting to me lately. At least three different players I've played with in the last week have been complaining loudly that when they get premium hands there's always someone who calls any PF raise they make with junk trying to bust them. Guys getting furious because they have AA and a 26BB raise isn't enough to get the guy with 85o to lay down his hand, someone calls with a trash hand no matter what. Oh the humanity.

Even when I explain very slowly why it's good when someone calls with a worse hand, they still don't get it. Tilts me to no end.

One thing I hear several times a session is someone say to me "nice bet" when I get someone to fold. I always nod or so thanks.

Internally I laugh and make mental note speaker is likely horrible. They always assume the purpose of the bet is to make people fold.

Nice bet means "i think youre full of **** but im not in the hand so i cant call" which also means "this is my way of warning you i know you bluff, but i am reallt a nit so i hope saying this will stop you trying to bluff me"

I have JJ and go heads up to the flop.
AJ10r.
I bet he calls, turn is a brick, I bet he calls, river bricks, I bet he calls.
I show, he looks for a few moments and turns over KQ. He gets asked why he didn't raise and he says "Can't get too greedy." I look at the ceiling kind of dazed and one of the players at the table tells me, "I can't believe you bet there, you had so much showdown value!"

That's probably why KQ didn't raise either; too much showdown value

Finally another anecdote worthy of the thread.

Buddy two to my left on crazy monkey tilt explaining how the only way to put him on tilt is to play bad. Apparently he HATES when people don't play right. Variance comes from when bad players do stupid things and always get lucky.

This tirade was going on while we were in a hand together in which i attacked someone elses straddle with AQ and position. Board runs out 4 to a flush by the river. He checks, i bet 3/4 pot and he goes ape ****. Slams his cards into the muck and crying to the gods about how he was going to stack the dummy (me) with his flopped two pair.

Normally i don't show bluffs, was actually starting to slide my hand forward then decided to flip them up. First time ever at a poker table where i was afraid i was going to get my ass kicked. Apparently showing the bluff was a dick move. Weird how the fear and laughter were battling for control in my mind.

Good times.

90% Vpip fish announces to the table he's unlucky with dealer that just sat down and will not play any hands bc of it, except aces which he will just shove pre flop so he won't get sucked out on. He actually sat there for a half an hour and folded every hand.
