the best? i think your question should be phrased are there ANY? micro stakes games (4/8, 8/16) run occasionally at venetian, wynn, hard rock, and aria. Best bet is the weekend. I believe that goofy 4/8 at IP goes on some day of the week with crazy variations. the 20/40 at aria stopped going before the wsop and hasnt resumed to my knowledge(havent been around aria but i was on the text list). They still get 9/18 mix sometimes. Above that its only bellagio. The 40/80 goes pretty regulary, altho its 50/100 or higher sometimes, never lower. A game sometimes pops up at Wynn, Hard Rock, or aria in the 8/16-30/60 level organized by some locals. Obviously larger games go there but you said low-mid so i didn't mention them.

Also, mix games are not horse, or 8game, they include a lot of draw variations, 2-7 triple draw, A-5 triple draw, badugi, badeucey, and badacey(Acedugi some places) and never in my experience have they had any big bet games aside from NL 2-7 in larger games (80/160 and above) Your standard mix is something like Badeucey, omaha/8, stud/8 and 2-7 triple draw, and as many as 10 games sometimes.

Horse tournies exist I think at the Orleans and Wynn in the $150ish range. Never played them tho.

The IP mixed game still runs every Sunday night at 7pm. They play a lot of weird games though that I've never played.

When I was in Vegas in late August, I saw a 12/24 mixed game going on at the Hard Rock during the Detox Poker Series. It was Scott Fischman, 3 young asian's and a middle aged guy and Joe Tehan. They were playing a mix of badugi, 2-7 triple draw, A-5 triple draw, stud 8/b, and omaha 8/b. The poker waiting list had it listed as 8/16 but I guess they decided to up the stakes a bit. My buddy was still in the Main Event and I was sweating him. Almost played in the mix, but it was playing quite large with many streets capped and I didn't feel like potentially losing a buy-in with, say a A-2-3 against a pat J in badugi, etc. Scott was WASTED and one of the asian's was quite sloshed as well. Seemed like a good game, but was a bit out of my comfort zone and would have played if it was 8/16.

I am pretty sure Fischman hosts a weekly 7-game tourney there at the Hard Rock, so wouldn't be surprised if a mixed game got off occaisonally there. Didn't see any mixed games go off at the Venetian (my main haunt when I was in Vegas) though I saw an interest list one time for a 4/8 mixed game and once for a 4/8 (?) HORSE game, but I don't think either ran.

Report from last night: Venetian had a full ring 4/8 H.O.R.S.E game running for 3 hours, and a shorthanded 8/16 mixed game running for 2 hours.
I game the 4/8 H.O.R.S.E game a shot: played with 4 older ladies who seem to be playing stud for a lot of years, kinda fishy in Stud8, weak in Holdem and pretty terrible in O8 (although one of the 4 was really tough! she later moved up to 8/16 Mix). also played with 2 loose-passive *V* dealers who automatically went to the end like they were payed to do so (and they were!).
Later that night I walked down to Aria, they had a 9/18 mixed game running. Didn't sweat the action as I couldn't leave the unbelievably juicy 4/8 Holdem table!
All in all, great holiday action, see what tonight brings...

If you're looking for soft micro limit, the 4/8 at the Aria is a pretty beatable game, especially in the stud games. Some of the worst Razz I've ever seen played, was up nearly 400 in eight hands of Razz on a Saturday night.

How often is the 4/8 mix running at Aria? I know it was going during the WSOP, but how often does it run now? I always read about how they are super willing to run mixed games, but when I get out there they don't get off the ground. Maybe I picked bad weekends?

Not sure, I was in there twice, once on a saturday once on a thursday during the WSOP. Maybe they don't keep it running now.

Not much limit action from what I know. They DO have a 4/8 LHE game running right now... I'm gonna go and check it out...

Gonna be in Vegas Feb10-13...where can i expect to find mixed games? Does Venetian still run HORSE? What does Aria offer? Does IP still have their mixed game or is it only on Sundays?

Thanks

Aria has a semi-regular 9/18 mix with a bunch of badugi split-pot games (razzdugi, baduci, badacey, etc). Usually starts around 7. Can't speak for Venetian or IP.

3/6 mix at IP runs Sunday at 7pm. Sometimes it goes, sometimes not, so best to be there on time to get the ball rolling. Some weird games but can be good action.

Venetian often has HORSE and Mix lists 4/8 and 8/16. It seems like once every week or so they actually go off. This is during the day with DSE going on so results may be skewed.
