why is this? is it rude or something? or is it so the other player can get a read when asking how much?

fwiw i like that dealers don't announce the amount of an all-in.

It makes no sense why the amount of a bet would need to be made clear unless it’s an all-in, in which case it should not be made clear.

I have no idea what that means .... But the dealer should not be counting or announcing the size of any bet made until asked (the exception being when the bettor verbally announces the amount of the bet).

Everyone but Ray agrees. The exception makes no sense no matter how you slice it. The English version of my post:

It makes no sense to say that the amount of a bet needs to be made clear if it is not all-in and should not be made clear if it is all-in.

what i mean is when a bet is made during a round the other players need to know what the bet is and the dealar should announce it or spread it out to make it visually so. but when someone moves all in we know what his bet is, it is all in.

the amount of it then if important is to the caller he needs to ask. and the dealer shouldnt count it first as it influences the players action.
