So, you know how when a down card is dealt face up, it becomes the burn card, right? Well, yesterday, at our 5-10NL table, the dealer dealt a card to which the player asked if it flashed. The dealer said that it was at such an angle that there was no way that it did. I was texting at the moment, but happened to hear the exchange, so I chimed in, "it's the As, muck it!" The player looks at me and discards the As. He then folds his UTG+1 hand.

What's funny here is that I didn't really see it. I just said it just to say it.

Well, the rest of the hand played out and there ended up being the other 3 Aces on the board. Luckily it was a straddled pot, and only the BB and straddle were in the hand, for a total of $45 in the pot.

I should have been banned or something for that, right?

lol

You should get a high five at least for calling it

The card probably shoudl have been treated as flashed anyway. If anyone thinks the card was flashed then treat it as flashed ... don't debate it .... don't vote on it .... just replace it....

You realise that if you do this douche move every time, once every 50 times you're gonna get it right right ? Right Left Horizontal ?

I flashed a ten the other day, replaced it. Guy would have had pocket tens. Flop a ten, turn a ten. His trip tens (or maybe tens full, don't remember) took down a decent pot. Then he chided me for costing him quads.

"You should be thanking me, flashing that ten won you a much bigger pot."

He had to concede this was true.

Funny, my "debating with the dealer whether or not it flashed" story is also about the Ace of Spades:

(apologies to all who have already heard this story)

Three of us left in a tourney, seats 1, 2, and 3, I'm the on the button in the 3. My first card sails at me sideways, lands face down in front of me. I couldn't see what it was, but I was 100% sure that if either of my opponents were watching it, they could see it easily.

"Well, I certainly don't want THAT card," I announced, and returned it to the dealer face-up. It was the A.

"What are you doing?", asked the dealer.

"This card flashed," I told him.

"No it didn't," he replied.

"Do you think I don't want an Ace right now?"

He relented.

Yes, but I've made better calls in my life.

would have been better if one of the two remaining hands had a pocket pair and the guy who you got to fold the A would have had a BBJ hand thus costing everybody at the table money because you got him to fold.
