HSP Season 5 info (another wild rumor - KM) HSP Season 5 info (another wild rumor - KM)

I don't know how reliable this info is, but it doesn't hurt posting it.

Source: http://www.ppppoker.com/2008/07/high...son-5-rumours/ - I got to that site through Farha's official site, it doesn't look very credible imo.

"I see this subject seems to be causing quite some conversation.
As a member of GSN board I would like to reassure everybody that there will be a season 5 of High Stakes Poker but unfortunately due to certain complications this year with GSN and High Stakes Poker producers we will not be able to air the show until February 2009.
GSN apologizes for the delay but assures you it will be worth the wait. High Stakes Poker Season 5 will no longer only be playing Texas Hold ‘Em but will be introducing Ohmaha, an increasingly popular game. There will also be some new blood in the show. Among which are WSOP 2007 No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em winner Jerry Yang, and fellow finalist Tuan Lam. As as every season the location is different and this years season is played at the luxurious 5 star Wynn Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.
How will the our new comers cope with the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Sammy Farha and the rest of the gang. And how will a new game go down? Tune in next year to find out!
Further apologies about the inconvenient delay
Regards, Michael Zeisser

lol Jerry Yang?? You have got to be kidding me.
I'm interested in seeing how Tuan plays though, since I heard he does well in the LHE cash games.

Close thread.

Jerry Yang would never play in this game.

Thats pretty much why I thought it was bs too. I just posted it to get people's opinions.

This is complete nonsense.

1. GSN won't be buying any new poker shows for a while. As long as GSN needs to climb out of the financial hole created by WPT Season 6, GSN can't spend any money on new poker shows.

2. Neither Yang nor Lam are candidates for casting in Poker PROductions projects with exception of Yang in the next 2 NBC Head-Up events.

Also, never ever they would even think about playing omaha on HSP. Too few people even have a clue of it.

Anyway, I still hope HSP5 is going to be aired on some day.

In terms of point 1...it's possible there might be conversations going on that you're not aware about. Maybe some things have changed in the last couple of weeks, we've been waiting for a GSN announcement, but it still hasn't happened even though the next season has begun filming.

Time will tell...

- completely disagree. if they know it will be profitable i think they`ll make it. the WPT is a different topic

but they will never play omaha i think. i love poker, and watching omaha is like ?!?!?! . i cant even bother reading hand histories of high stakes omaha games .

Have to agree that it's nonsense, the addition of Jerry Yang should explain how stupid this rumor is to anyone who read it.
