How to play final table with family members? How to play final table with family members?

So the other day i was playing a live tournament with my brother about 170 people were in it and we both ending up making the final table. Of course both played our own game but we didn't try to cripple each other when we did end up in pots together. Of course nobody at the table know he is my brother. And im not intentionally actively trying to collude with my brother while at the same time not wanting to eliminate my brother.

2 questions
1. Do i tell the table were related?
2. And how would you play the tournament if it was your family member at the table?

1. I would tell the table.

2. Play it like he you didn't know him personally (you can use your knowledge of his playing style).

I've ended up at the same table as my wife many times in tournaments. I always make sure everyone knows. She gets no greater joy in poker than by knocking me out of the tourney. I respond in kind.

When you knock out your brother, you get to trash talk him for eternity.

Playing not to eliminate an opponent in a tournament is collusion.

You cheated.

Do you see how this is sentence contradicts itself. If you were trying to not take too many chips from him when you were in pots with him ... you weren't playing your own games.

Of course you are ... you already admitted as much above.

1)Telling them doesn't solve the problem ... you're still cheating.

2)Play to crush them. This is not really hard when playing a brother or someone you don't share a bankroll with (unless you have a an agreement to share wins/losses). If you are playing with your wife and all the money ends up in the same place it is very hard to actually separate your play.

I have made a few final tables with my wife. I am pretty talkative at the table while she is pretty reserved. She has on occasion told me to shut up. We do reveal that we are husband and wife and are out to win the tournament. She has actually refused to chop with me. I did have one player announce they can't be married they aren't wearing rings. ???? Great observation Sherlock Holmes.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their women.
