I've never asked for a copy of the rules in any of the poker rooms in AC. I'm assuming they're easy to come by? Just ask for a copy and they give you one I assume?

Good question but I don't know the answer to it. They should give one to the dealers at the Taj and Caesars and make them read it. Some of the dealers there could use it.

You should be able to get a copy at Borgata, if they still give them out. I got a copy a few years ago.

It never hurts to ask.

I got a copy just the other day at the podium by table 19. The tournament desk has them.

The Taj had a handout back in the 90's with the house rules. These covered issues like having to have enough chips in front of you to call a bet to be dealt a hand and probably when IWTSTH would apply. AC had some odd rules like not being able to transfer chips to another player in the room. I don't know if these are still in effect. Anyway it was quite technical, not just what beats what.

The 90's is a long time ago...poker rooms like the one in Borgata, really all of them should be required to publish and distribute the full rules imo. Otherwise, what does a player have to use as a reference? Rules need to be in writing, and need to be readily available to all players who request them, again, in my humble opinion.

I will try to give Borgata and Taj a call later on to see if I can pick these up from them and will report back.

I assume you drive a motor vehicle. Have you ever took the time to read ALL of the traffic laws and regulations regarding the operation and care of motor vehicles? If your state requires the vehicle be inspected on a regular schedule, have you read the regulations concerning what it takes for a vehicle to pass that inspection?

You put your life at risk each time you get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle and the lives of others as well.

Nothing quite so dear is at stake when you play poker and you feel the need to read the rules?

Have you read the TDA rules yet, or RRoP?

Once you get copies of the rules and read them, what then. If a floor person tells you your interpretation of the rule is incorrect, then what?

Here's a couple of rules you will find in most, if not all, rule sets.

DECISION-MAKING
1. Management reserves the right to make decisions in the spirit of fairness, even if a strict interpretation of the rules may indicate a different ruling.

2. Decisions of the shift supervisor are final.

Just FYI, this is called table stakes and it is not odd or uncommon.

I think he is talking about when a player is playing cash and trades for chips from another player instead of getting it out of the rack from the dealer.

Could be or it could be Player A trying to avoid Title 31 compliance by selling chips to player B in line at the cage. This would lower the amount that Player A would then cash in and avoid the reporting of a cash transaction.

Different from table stakes but it's not AC rules, it's federal law.

The way I took his comment was one player tries to give his buddy/wife/girlfriend/whatever chips to play with out of their stack. Kinda like the scene in Rounders where Worm tries to buy into the game at Taj by bumming chips instead of buying them.

Want to chime in on what you meant richmhv?
