And to ChicagoJoe and other Chicago natives: If I am coming from O'Hare or Northbrook, should I take the Dan Ryan through downtown to the skyway there or go the Calmut/Cline/Indianopolis route? (Note: don't mind paying a toll but do mind the traffic...)
I would come through downtown on 94 and take the skyway, yes. Traffic shouldn't be too bad on a Sunday, although it will take you longer than an hour from the airport IMO.

Jeremy, I second the question about a call in list- you guys are going to have one, correct? What's the number? What are the rules?

Jeremy: Get rid of the IWTSTH rule, it will eliminate arguments, most notably the mis-application of the rule by bad dealers. Just don't have it, and you will have less arguments and speed the game up.

Jeremy, any word yet on whether the soft opening will be delayed?

The website now says they'll reopen at noon on July 28. I'm not sure if that's the date that has always been posted there (even before the accident), or if it's revised.

Just found out today. This is correct as of right now it is now Monday at noon. This is why it is a "soft" opening. It is tentativly scheduled. I hope this will not change.

We have discussed this rule. We will have the rule but we will not let players take advantage of the rule. If you take the rule out what happens? Players will think other players are colluding and they can't even ask to see the hand. If players KNOW other players can't ask then it can invite them to collude with other players and we do not want that. I don't think they should be calling the floor eveytime they think someone is colluding to see the other players hand. I don't think that the IWTSTH rule is abused that much at Ameristar or Majestic. If it becomes a problem with someone that is just doing it to upset another player then we can take the IWTSTH rule away from that one player. Fair?

Looking forward to checking off another good poker room off my "places to donk money" list (been to Vegas, Canterbury, AC, I think LA - Bike.
Thanks to all...
The only number I can offer you right now is 219-473-7000 and asked to be transfered to the poker room when we open. When I find out what the direct line is I will let you know what the number is. You will be able to call in one hour ahead to put your name on the list. I would love to have players to be able to register for the game they want online. This might take some time though.

that would be awsome to be able to register online and be able to see what games are going on in real time.

Someone should PM a mod to change the date on the thread title so nobody shows up early.

Interested to see what sort of games get going here, and definitely excited to have a big room near Chicago.

This is awesome!

A few questions for Jeremy:

Do you think higher limit games will be spread on a nightly basis? (10/25+nl/plo & 100/200+ limit games)

Tell me a bit more about the high-limit room. What will be the minimum limit to spread games in there? Also, there is a "step-up" high limit section similar to Bellagio?

One of my biggest pet peeves about playing the weekend game at Resorts is that the railbirds are so ***** close and trying to sweat your cards and its just a bad atmosphere all together.

Live poker in Chicago was really brutal before this so I'm really excited and hope the room is as nice as it sounds...

Four Winds Casino is now where they use to pick up for Resorts East Chicago.

I took a shuttle to Ameristar from 8th and Wabash yesterday and it stopped at the same spot in Chinatown the shuttles for Resorts used to stop at.

Regardless, I can;t imagin playing live poker near Chicago anywhere but the HOrsehoe from now on. That Hyatt Shuttle is perfect for me.

You mean anyone besides me? I thought I did confirm it a few posts up... The Horseshoe has a shuttle that runs to and from the Hyatt on Wacker everyday (with the exception of right now while the Horseshoe is closed). i think they go like every 2 hours.

Just took a look at the site and now it says July 29th (no time given)

Is their a page on the site that covers details of the poker room? If there is, I couldn't find it. I'm looking for what regular tournaments will be offered (if any)

With all the setbacks you have to check the website on a daily basis. Yes the Horseshoe is having tournaments. Raise It has posted some details and they should have all the details after opening day. The WSOP circuit will be there 10-24.

Jeremy, please read through the hundreds of IWSTH threads on this site. This rule is abused to gain information at Resorts all the time. When I'm heads up when the majority of the money gets in, there's no reason my opponent should get to see my hand if I call him down. It's sad that I have had to teach myself to fire my hand into the middle of the muck when I lose at showdown.

Pretty much the only thing that tilts me is a guy who is stacking my chips and now wants to see my hand.

Agreed. I would wager that 95%+ of the time the rule is invoked, it's just for information. I don't think most people would even know how to use it to stop collusion or even know it's an anti-collusion rule.

Jeremy:
If a player thinks collusion is going on, they should stop the game, call the floor, and make an accusation. As IWTSTH is used now, 99% of the time its for information, nothing more. Resorts allow players not in the hand to call once an hour. If anyone thinks players are requesting IWTSTH for collusion, they are delusional. It is strictly being nosey, and you would be well served to eliminate the rule from your fab new poker room. As others have stated, you should research this site for threads about the issue, it is universally despised.

No, it's not. I like IWTSTH for the reasons Jeremy gave and I've used it exactly once in my life. Then again, it's only used once every 30-40 hours in the games I play so it's not a big deal. The explanation Jeremy gave is the exact right way to implement it.

Tournaments are not posted yet. The only info I can give on this is "coming soon"! Along with the WSOP circuit event October 24th-Nov 2nd

If we feel someone is taking advantage of the rule we can and will revoke that players right to ask to see a hand. We will be able to monitor the games like no one is use to seeing in this area which will help prevent many things like this from continuing to happen. Supervisors will not have to run the board, do table fills, rating cards, etc. we will have a brush staff for this. They will have much more time to actually monitor games and get to know the players.

I will read into the other posts to gain more opinions.....
