They shouldn`t invite Phil Laack anymore to HSP. That guy played exactly one hand in Episode 3. Give that seat to someone who wants to play and not comment every single play and never be involved in a pot...
You do realize the show is edited, right? I mean, they play for like 8 hours. Have you ever thought that maybe Laak played a bunch of hands that weren't televised?
I'm sure he did play more than one hand but I'd also be willing to bet he folded more than anyone else at the table except maybe for Todd. I agree that he should be removed for being such a damned nit and complaining about EVERYTHING. The players are always commenting on it too.

Jep, totally with you.

High point of the episode for me was Hellmuth threatening the table about how much power he's going to eventually hold.. then proceeds to come up with the best example he could think of, which is that he already has a word in about which players are made into poker video game avatars.

Holy cow, the guy is actually completely insane, utterly and totally batshit crazy.

Please get rid of Phil Laak. Please get rid of Phil Laak. Please get rid of Phil Laak. Please get rid of Phil Laak.

Not only does he not play any hands but his constant, completely random table talk and nervous laughter kills the mood. It's like the social awkwardness of Phil Gordon in tenth power!

Bob Safai is 45? He looks like a 60 year old.

But I also remember Matusow`s comment in that previous Episode where he said Laack never puts a chip in.
He said he never puts a bad chip in.

Which is true. His non-stop chatter, borderline angle-shoots, and, most of all, nitty play annoy me.

Classic from Safai. Asking Hellmuth if he jacked off while looking at a picture of himself, then had to take a shower when it got all over him. Wow. Priceless
I personally found this comment distasteful and out of line even if Safai really did just repeat what the others had said when Phil was away. But I'm not a Phil hater.
This is poker not bridge!
That was out of line. Just because they're at the poker table, he doesn't get free license to say anything he wants. In any other setting he'd be asking for an ass-kicking.
I'm not saying I agree or disagree but when you're talking to Phil Hellmth who just got done berating the he77 out of silent Mike with no justification it makes it easier to accept.

Yea, I agree that the comment was distasteful. I laughed my ass off to Helmuth throughout the show, first he made that great bluff vs mike, and he was so full of himself and then get owned. I don`t really like Phil Helmuth, aside that he`s funny to watch, but people should really respect him a little more.

Regarding the hand where Mike B. outplayed Phil with JT. I think he really played it good. It`s live poker, and I was really surprised how Phil gave his hand away. Even if Baxter would have called the turn, there is no way he would have called the river, had Phil not shown weakness by talking.

As for the flush hand. Can`t really blame Phil for shoving there given the stack sizes.

Also, Mike Matusow makes some sick reads.

Maybe Todd had a great poker room rate at the hotel, and is nitting his way through the game trying to clear it.

Has anyone else tried to record these using Comcast's DVR? Comcast's scheduling listing doesn't have these episodes marked with the 'new' tag, so my DVR hasn't recorded it because it thinks it's a rerun. This is the second time this season this has happened.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Yeah I've had the same problem - I use all-shows in time slot for HSP

well what the fuzz

is a poker playe now forced to play?
if he wants to fold, let him fold...
he has to play sooner or later, as he is anteing and blinding... so why dont u let nitty players play their nitty style???

probable spoiler ahead!

oh and btw before the broadcast of season 4 started, it was stated, that PH was winning big...
right now he lost a lot of pots, and a lot of money... he had one good hand, 72 vs mikey.
maybe he won a lot, but that doenst translate in playing good poker does it?
(oh well, he had some bad luck i.e. with his 99 vs brandon´s sevens, but he just played bad as well...)

I'd rather see Todd Brunson get kicked out of the show than Phil Laak... he played nitty AND seemed to be in a bad mood.

Great episode!

All these people calling Todd and Laak nits are pretty annoying:/ They show like 10 hands per episode and 5 of them involve 72o... Do you really know how many hands Todd or Laak played while playing on HSP.

I agree, boot Todd, he's a kill joy.
Phil H -lauphing my ass off that he berated silent Mike when silent Mike kicked his ass all the way to China!! Ha Ha.
Only thing silent Mike did wrong the whole episode was not bet on the river in that one hand, that didn't make sense.

Also liked when Anotonio told Phil L that no one knew or cared what he was talking about. LOL.

Does anyone have any info on stack sizes at this point? Is Phil H. down $200k ?

I think on Mike's quad hand he thought Phil was going to fold and did the only thing he knew how to do and started to talk. I think the talking didn't help and made Phil fold quicker but i think he was going to fold anyways and Mike tried to get a call the best way he knew how. How can Phil call 30K on the river with 2 overs when mike bet into 4 players on the flop?

What are the chip denominations?
The yellow gray ones are 1k?
The Gray black ones are $5K?
The dark Purple ones are $100?
Whats the rest?

The white/purple are the $500's. The $100's look more like black/burgandy (or maroon).

I gotta say something about Todd. I know he's supposed to be an amazing limit poker player, but NL definately seems to be his worst game. Almost everything I have seen from him these past 3 seasons on HSP has been sub-par. He plays insanely nitty in terms of how the rest of the table is playing and when he does make moves, he either can't seem to sell them (see AK vs 99 hand vs Matusow), or can't create a good line (his 80k or 90k shove with AK on the flop vs Negreanu's AQ in season 1)

Again, I know he's an incredible player, but his NL cash game seems a bit weak.
