Guy called me a nit and later got kinda aggressive - how to react?

Everyone's game is different. So in some games you can open with ... whatever if you havent played a hand in 1 hour. Other games they might notice but still wont fold preflop so its pointless to "mix it up". Other games might be tight enough were you can be a LAG and just take down small pot after small pot. So it depends.
My games.... it depends on who is at the table with what I can get away with. Last session I couldnt get away with crap. We had 4 loose passives who would simply not fold to nada. You would have to raise $25 (1/2 NL) to have them fold bad hands. So I had to play for big pots.

if you wake up from a nap on the river and don't know what the pot is any more, don't ask the dealer to count it, or spread it so you can count it, or sit there counting on your fingers...
just estimate. If you're off by 20%, or even a factor of 2, it won't make that much difference, and won't call attention to what you're doing.
