$1-2-3 Spread Limit, $100 max buy in, max bet $200, rake is $5 per hand regardless of whether there is a flop or not. That means the initial "war for the blinds" is a war for a a buck. First time I went to this place I sat for a couple hours before losing my one buyin and basically realized that no one except for one dude catching ridiculously good cards had any money in front of them. Is this beatable/worth playing in?
If the players are weaker than you by a significant margin, then yes. Be a little less inclined to steal, and a little more inclined to play if there are a lot of chips on the table (hint: go on Saturday night when the game's been running since Friday lunchtime).
There are much worse rakes in the world, and I'll say it again: no rake is unbeatable with weak enough opposition.
anyway one time i played in this game at turning stone, i had a straight flush with 4 diamonds on the board, kept reraising back and forth with this guy, after the 6th time or so everyone figured this tard had the Ad and didn't realize the straight flush and i had the straight flush... we raise eachother litereally 15 more times until i asked the dealer for permission to jus go all in if we both agreed
we did, he turns over a straight, and the dealer looks at the poor guy and says "what the hell are you doing".... lol, so ya any game is beatable
if you play it real well you can probably make like 10 dollars an hour
Depends mostly on how loose the game plays (and secondarily, how passive it is). Since you didn't even attempt to categorize this game along those lines, it's absurd for you to expect an answer.
Just like a 1-3 spread means you can bet between 1 and 3, a 3-200 spread means you can bet between 3 and 200. It's how jurisdictions that don't allow NL attempt to get around it, kinda. It's common in parts of California.
