The format looks like it'd be fun to play... but it's not very fun to watch IMHO.

Hi,

has anyone been amazed by Annette Obrestad's attitude in "the double poker championship"? She was constantly arguing the plays of her partners and almost yelled at Huck Seed and giving him poker lessons...

Wasn't that totally out of place?

IMO it was pathetic...

Yep, her attitude is really unpleasant. Even commentator said her partner did not appreciate "the poker lesson" she gave him. It's quite tough to feel sympathy for her as a person watching how she behaves on TV shows.

I mean - you like Ivey cause he is fantastic player, you love Hellmuth for him being insta needled by other players, Matusow for his "idiot remarks" and steam periods, Jen Tilly for her look, etc. etc. Most of "TV players" has at least one mark that makes them interesting to watch - I dont think Anette has one besides being a b... :-/

How she reacts after the hand to Huck is just embarassing for everyone: Huck himself, other players, commentators and viewers (IMO).

Thanks for posting I wouldn't have found it otherwise. I don't really blame her for getting frustrated, she's probably one of the few people who cares at all about the event...but there are a better ways to handle it and I think at 21 she's just not going to know that yet.

It's cool to see any argument/discussion between the teams, but tournament-format is so boring to me I can't bear to pick through each episode trying to find them.

Like Huck said he played it unorthodox but she should have followed his plan : bet the river to represent that 7, he knew all the way he was good with two pair there.

And when she requested that time out in the middle of the thinking process, Huck was gathering all information and he was calling 95% of the time. But yet she had to be in the center of the show.

Well recently I didn't enjoyed much TV shows with DN and his recent attitude but grats to her she picked his spot.

Yeah and her post match interview was dreadful. Huck makes a good point that Annette should bet the river with the straight on board.

And her response was only "I'd never raise the turn so I've never been in that spot before." Jesus Christ, if she wasn't so focused on mouthing off on Huck it wouldn't have taken much mental effort to say to herself: "Okay I wouldn't have done that but it happened, now what do I do?" It's as if she's never done a poker exercise in her life.

Huck made a brilliant turn raise. And Annette's river check was on the awful side.

Not only that, Huck was 100% right on his read that their opponents had hands that had a lot of outs against them.

This show could have been the best poker show ever if they just made 1 heat per episode. Because apparently there was a few hours of play.

And even though Ivey's time out with Laak wasn't that interesting, it was amazingly awesome to hear Ivey talk about a hand no matter how trivial. It might just be me but the time out discussions are crazy fun to watch.

Exactly my thoughts.
She was so inflexible in her thought process, she couldn't even appreciate a great play and follow up.
When he is focused, Huck is such a great reader of cards, has awesome situational awareness. He is also very humble and classy. He handled himself great against the brat.

Probably made it harder for opponents to understand if they overheard. Huck dropped out of CalTech, and might have learned it in school. Also California is near Mexico and used to be part of Mexico.

In general, like the show. Almost all are real strong players. Doubles format is something new and makes for entertainment as well as strategy.

Chan talked about the first hour and a half, so these SNGs are probably atleast 2 1/2 hours. Might be better if they didn't condense it into 22 minutes, but I guess they want to show a lot of different match ups of partners, which is entertaining.
