I live in the UK and don't have ESPN i was wondering if and where and when i will be able to watch the WSOP 2009 coverage.

ESPN Classic will probably show it in the UK...eventually. Don't know if it'll be before or after ESPN launch their own 'proper' channel in the UK on August 3rd though.

I just got to Europe for the summer and was please to see that there is a poker channel (even if it's mostly donks playing online). Hopefully it will have coverage. Anyone know? I'd assume there would be.

If it's the UK that you're on about then that will probably be Sky Poker on Sky channel 865 but no, they won't be showing the WSOP on there.

I think various Scandinavian TV channels are quicker on the draw than the UK in this regard so no surprise if they show any of the WSOP 2009 events first in Europe.

I don't think it's a rights issue just a case of not knowing what the TV audience for poker is like over here in the UK (it isn't the never-ending amount of six-seater donkaments/shovefests for Christ's sake!).

TBH I think we're best waiting for it to turn up on Pokertube, thats what i do each year. Although channel 4 did some good coverage of the WSOPE in 2008 that was available online at 4od as well - maybe they'll step up to the challenge?

Also, anyone have freeview? because Im sure there is an ESPN channel on that?

YouTube has all the MEs from 2003-2008.

Pokertube is where I have been watching my WSOP coverage over the last few years, someone will post it shortly after it airs in the U.S. However, that may not be technically legal so if you want to be strictly within the law, I believe ESPN are now entering the British and Irish market having bought up a lot of the Scottish and English Premier League rights previously owned by the now busto Setanta Sports. I would assume that, if not already, a UK version of ESPN will be available shortly.
