So, they play down to two on Sunday, and over the next couple of days ESPN frantically edits that portion down to something-less-than-two-hours.

Heads up play starts Tuesday morning (?), and presumably finishes with enough time to allow the ESPN editors to tack the heads up portion into the end of the broadcast. Pollack says that, this year, the broadcast won't necessarily be 2 hours exactly; it will be variable based on what's best for the broadcast.

In any case, the broadcast begins at 9 PM Eastern, 6 Pacific.

Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that heads up play is ridiculously long, and they're still playing by the time the broadcast starts. Remember, Chip and Andy played for 12 hours at the '08 HORSE.

WTF do they do then???

OP, they would probably just give an update and give the results later. What else are they supposed to do?

If it lasts that long and is that epic, they will probably show it next week as its own episode.

HU goes down on a Monday, unless they changed plans from last year.

EDIT: They're broadcasting HU on Wednesday the 10th, it is going to be filmed on the 9th.

Indeed it is. The actual dates are right, though.

The Jerky thing is important.

ESPN can't just pretend that it wasn't happening.

No matter what, it was part of the Main Event this year, and may have affected play.

Here's a better what-if.

What if it's down to 3, and they all get it in, and the chipleader wins?

What if they get down to two-handed, both players move all-in, and the dealer dies of cardiac arrest.

Does ElkY win?

This would be the logical solution.

what if it gets down to heads up, and one of the players dies the night before? would they just have an empty chair for two hours? If so, I probably wouldn't watch. maybe the last 10 minutes or so, but that's it. did they think of this possibility before they started this?
