Anyone know what type of stakes, how loose the play is in the casino's around Edmonton are? Got my first taste of live poker in Vegas and I liked it. Looking for strictly limit games.
How about Calgary as well? Heading to Calgary in early April, looking to play 1/2NL maybe 2/5.
Do they have deep stack buyins at the Stampede Casino?

Limit can be found at a few places in town very regularly. The Palace at WEM and Century casino on fort road both spread 3/6 limit with a kill on multiple tables every day and baccarat casino spreads a 4/8 mixed game daily.
Yellowhead, River Cree and Argyll tend to put most of their focus on open limit and pot limit games.
Depending on the time of day, the limit games can range from rock gardens to complete gong shows and weekend evening games are generally filled with players who don't have a clue what they are doing. Mid-week daytime crowds are typically filled with older grinders who are looking to socialize more than gamble so the average pot size reduces dramatically as does the variance.
Anyone know if any of them don't have a bad beat jackpot? I occasionally drop by for a 3/6 limit game but it seems like the tipping and rake would affect my winrate.
Only 3/6 limit left as the only liimit game in Edmonton now. Century Casino has multiple games running from probably 9am - 4am every day. Palace Casino apparently also runs limit games, and no other casinos do as far as I know.
3/6 is the only limit left, so if you are looking for bigger games, look elsewhere than Edmonton
Oh, games are ridiculously loose and passive. Easily some of the softest games in the world, so even if you are a weaker player, you should easily hold your own, and enjoy your experience
I don't think any rooms in town offer small limit games without a bad beat but I may be mistaken.
As for the Omaha, it's rare to find limit games at most places other than Baccarat. It can be found in some of the higher pot/no limit games around town which tend to run as a dealers choice with 4 game mix.
