It's dumb because it's kind of results-oriented but it has the indirect effect of making me play better.
I decided I was going to make a pile of chips for every time that I folded out of the blinds and missed - that is I would have lost the hand had I stayed to the river. I also planned to make a pile of chips for every time I stayed on a hand that I should have folded. It gave me extra motivation to lay down bad hands. It kept me involved in the hands even if I wasn't playing in them because I wanted ot see if I was supposed to add a chip to my pile. Soon I had 25 $1 chips and colored it up for a green. Only after I had my first green did I have any chips in the "bad" fold pile. I made 44 big bets.

Well whatever works for you but eventually you will want to play the blinds properly without thinking about it and concentrate on the play of the other players when you are not in the hand.

This is effective only if you remove chips equivalent to the final pot size from your pile when you would have won the hand.
I have done this to keep track of how much I was losing when I play too loosely when tilting. It was a substantial amount the four times or so that I did it. And it helped me while I was playing to make better decisions...
